    Episode 1382 – 12 Year Retrospective (Episodes 900 – 1200)

    [START OF RECORDING]

SCOOTER: Friends beyond the binary, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I don't think I’ve been saying it in that order for 1,400 episodes, but I probably said it fourteen…I mean, I’ve definitely said it more than 1,400 times. If you're new to the show, welcome, but this is a anniversary episode, really, so, I don't know. I don't even know what the episode’s gonna be, to be honest. I just know that it’s July and I know I have to record a anniversary episode, 'cause that’s the one hole in our October…that’s the kind of work I do, man. I love making this podcast.

I love welcoming everybody, and particularly in the way we do it, which…I heard from Julie C; we used to do it in a little bit different order, but it’s friends beyond the binary, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, everybody, everybody out there in the deep, dark night, you're welcome here, and this podcast is very different if you're new, and it’s always been very different, and…but it’s always been an honor for me to try to make something different for the people that need it. So, yeah, I guess I’m really glad you're here. What I’m gonna try to do is help you out, and the way I’m gonna try to help you out is to tell you a bedtime story, keep you company, and take your mind off of stuff so you could fall asleep, which is a bit different. If you're new, what we got coming up is we’ve got support, then after the support will be a long, meandering intro meant to ease you into bedtime.

Alright, so, hey, everybody, a little behind-the-scenes. I was trying to introduce the show and, funnily enough, I wasn’t humble bragging…thanks, Harris, for all your inspiration, but that…my SD card filled up, so the anniversary episode has a technical glitch behind-the-scenes, at least. It could be one of my nicknames, Technical Glitch. I mean, I guess…or maybe something I said. If I ever had…if I was ever a voice on a techno album in the eighties…and you say, what’s that part between the beats? Like a Euro tech…say, technical glitch. He just keeps repeating ‘technical glitch’. It’s very danceable, though. He says it in a robotic voice, technical glitch. So, that’s what we call him. That’s what he’s…that’s what Scooter’s known as in Europe. He goes by Noir Chardonnay when he checks into hotels, but he…we call him Technical Glitch.

Mr. Glitch, Mr. Technical…Mr. Glitch, Mr. Technical Glitch? I say, right here, I’m right here. No problem. I like that, Mr. Glitch. Mr. Glitch…Mr. Glitch sounds pretty good. That could be…oh yeah, Mr. Glitch in fifth grade. Old…I didn’t realize his first name was Technical, otherwise I would have said, that’s…who named you? Oh, a sleep podcaster. I exist within his mind. Now if you're new, you're definitely confused, 'cause alls I can think about is Technical Glitch, Mr. Technical Glitch. Well, okay, so, I’m glad you're here if you're new. So, what we got coming up is support so paying for the show is optional, then a long, meandering intro meant to ease you into bedtime and to take your mind off of stuff, and then later on we’ll have a bedtime story.

It’ll be some sort of sleepy look-back, probably at the past year of the show or year and a half, 'cause the show’s…but I’ll try to do it in a way or look at the episodes…so, yeah, I’m really glad you're here. I got a lot of gratitude for the people that help me make the show and help make the show through the past couple years. So, I’m really glad you're here. I’m really glad I get to keep it sleepy, get to put this to a purpose. While this show just doesn't work for everybody, stick around and see if it works for you, 'cause it is different. I’m really glad you're here. I work really hard. I yearn and I strive. Thank you so much for coming by, and if this podcast makes your life better on a regular basis, here’s the ways you could make sure we're here for you and everybody else when you say, yeah, this podcast makes my life better; how can I help out? These are the ways you could do it.

INTRO: [INTRO MUSIC] Hey, are you up all night tossing, turning, mind racing? Trouble getting to sleep? Trouble staying asleep? Well, welcome. This is Sleep With Me, the podcast that puts you to sleep. We do it with a bedtime story. Alls you need to do is get in bed, turn out the lights, and press Play. I’m gonna do the rest. What I’m going to attempt to do is create a safe place where you could set aside whatever’s keeping you awake. It could be thoughts, thoughts, things on your mind about the past, the present, the future, it could be feelings, anything coming up for you emotionally, physical sensations, changes in time, temperature, routine, travel, work…you may work a different schedule.

You could be dealing with something, whether you're getting over something, in the middle of something, going through something, got something coming up. Whatever it is, I’m here to keep you company and take your mind off of stuff so you could fall asleep. The only reason I list some of that stuff is so you get the sense that maybe you're less alone, maybe there’s other people out there that see you and hope for you and that kinda…maybe…I’m only saying ‘understand’ 'cause it’s the best word. I realize that’s saying a lot, and I’m not saying we totally understand where you're at or that I do, but that we have an understanding, and maybe it’s a shared understanding or a shared sense or a sensibility. That always makes me go on a tangent about Sense and Sensibility, which I haven't read.

There’s other books…well, I guess that’s gotta be the next book I read, because I don't think I have read Sense and Sensibility. If I have, it’s been a while. So, yeah, there you go. For the love of Austen, man. Not Austin, Texas, but I’d love Austin, Texas, too. Okay, so, where are we? Oh, so, I know I have a lot of trouble sleeping. I have through my whole life, and it comes and it goes now, and I have a bedtime routine, but I know how it feels when I don't get the rest I need on a regular basis or when I’m going through it and I can't get the rest I need. So, that’s one of the reasons I make the shows, 'cause whatever it’s like for you, I want to be able to relieve that a little bit even if I haven't been through something similar, that I want to offer you something that makes it a little bit better.

The other thing is there’s a lot of people listening around the world, and I think there’s other people out there that have been through something like…that you're dealing with, and they're rooting for you. They hope the show helps you like it helped them. Because all of us agree you deserve a life where you get the rest you need on a regular basis, where you could be out there flourishing in the world or at least living your life. But even…you don’t have to…it’d be great if you didn’t have to dread bedtime, right, that you could feel neutral about it or at least maybe even look forward to it. Say, well, at least I got that goofy sleep podcast guy. So, I’m looking forward to that. It’s not…he’s not too bad.

He’s different than the glorified technical glitches like in…on stage and screen, of which we have…everybody’s got their favorites. I think…Penelope, is that who I’m thinking of, from…? My brain is saying a character from The Simpsons instead of the name of the movie. Oh, Wreck It Ralph. Wreck It Ralph wasn’t a technical glitch, and…but yeah, I mean, technical glitch. Doesn't that…? I mean, yeah, doesn't that sound very European techno? Is that even a music genre? Technical glitch, technical glitch, right? I mean, I guess it could be in a film as in…this one, it’s more of in a soothing…I guess that’s great. I could just say the word ‘til it takes all meaning out of it, and then you say, well, yeah, it just sounds like your name now. They say, Mr. Glitch, there’s post for you, Mr. Glitch. Okay, great. Bring it to…could…?

If I’m having tea, would there be a situation where you could…? There’s a call for you, Mr. Glitch. We’ll bring you a phone. Will it be one of those gilded phones? Are those gilded? Were there phones in the Gilded Age? These are questions I don't even know the answer to. Or were gilded phones…? They say, man, you know what we missed out on that Gilded Age? Those gilded phones. Can't believe it. Of all we had, we didn’t have gilded phones. We had an entire age of gildedness, but we didn’t have those. It’s such a let down. Say, oh, I’m sorry. I’m sorry, faux…I’ve called myself the Faux Astor before, so, I’m sorry, faux astors. You say, you would have…we know what fits in in any age is a technical glitch, 'cause you say, why is my steam refresher not working? Say, sorry, Mr. Faux Astor, it’s a technical glitch.

But we're working on it. Okay, why did I…? Didn’t I…when I interviewed you, wasn’t your name Technical Glitch? Oh, yeah. I was eating a sandwich; I put…I said, let me steam this sandwich. In the future they have these things called paninis. I said, what about a steamed panini? You know who would love that? Mr. Faux Astor. Oh, I was wondering why the whole home smelled of ham. Yeah, it’s funny 'cause it wasn’t even a ham sandwich, but it did smell like ham when it started steaming. So, it didn’t work out. So, technically it’s not a…technical glitch. I guess it was. Technically, I was the glitch, or I caused the glitch. But yeah, I guess I thought…steam pipe? Put my sandwich in there. Now I’ve become a Simpsons character. Somehow it’s led me there. Okay, so, what was I talking about? Oh, I want to help you fall asleep.

What I do is I send my voice across the deep, dark night. I use lulling, soothing, creaky, dulcet tones, pointless meanders, and superfluous tangents, which we’ve already gone on a few. If you find this show…you find…this show is not traditionally soothing. Your voice is creaky, dulcet. You get mixed up and you go on tangents. If you're frustrated or doubtful, you just got here…or skeptical, that makes sense. Why wouldn't you be? Maybe you’ve tried a bunch of different other stuff to help you fall asleep, and now you're like, is this show gonna work for me? I’ve tried so many different things. So, I hope it can help you out. Just see how it goes. That’s all I can tell you, is just see how it goes. If you know this show is already a ‘no’ for you, I have a website set up, sleepwithmepodcast.com/nothankyou.

But you could also always check it out when…if you say, yeah, it ended up…it didn’t work out between the two of us. You could check that show out later, 'cause most listeners, it takes two or three tries to realize, oh, he was never kidding. All the stuff he said in the show, he was…he really has done this…I figured it was his first episode. I do get e-mails like that once a month, and the people kinda said…I know they…but they know the show is numbered, but they're giving me…they say, elementary advice for you, Mr. Glitch…and I’d say, yeah, this show doesn't…it kinda…it’s not that we're trying to break any rules. It’s just that it’s like, hey, maybe all these rules around sleep stories and sleep stuff, maybe they're…maybe we're meant to be on the other side of them. I realize that doesn't even make any sense.

Or on the other side of those expectations around sleep or in a different zone. You say, you got your expectations about sleep and sleep podcasts over here. I’m over here repeating words over and over again. When people listen the first two or three tries, you're trying to make sense of this. You have reasonable expectations, and it’s only after the two…second or third try that you go, oh, I fell asleep, or oh, it was so…I was so…I didn’t think about all the stuff that was keeping me awake while he was saying ‘technical glitch’. I was imagining him in a black turtleneck behind a keyboard. You know, whatever, dance…somewhat dancing. So, yeah, most people don’t like the show when they get here. That’s pretty normal. Stick around and see what happens. That’s all I can do, is invite you to say, hey, see how it goes.

I’ve done that 1,500, 1,400 times. I mean, with bonus shows, I have no idea how much we’ve recorded, but…yeah. So, there’s that. What I’ll…oh, what else do you need to know? Oh, most…this is a show you kinda barely listen to, almost like background noise. So, that’s one of the things that takes…it’s like a TV on in the other room, a show streaming under your pillow, a friend on the phone that you don’t have to give your full attention to. You say, tell me all about this music project you got. Oh boy, do you know what a DSP is? No. Go ahead and keep tell…do you know the difference between digital and analog? No. Go ahead and tell me. Do you know what a 8-reel is? No. It sounds like something made up. Oh yeah, well, anyway, let me tell you all about it. So, that’s how that…oh, you just barely listen to me.

You've done it before. This is the only time that it’s totally okay. You say, oh yeah, uh-huh, uh-huh. Tell me more about that technical glitch. So, this is a show you kinda barely listen to. I’m actually not here to put you to sleep, even though we're celebrating twelve years of making the show, I think, or thirteen years. I don't even know because this is a…when I started the show, this idea of bedtime stories for grown-ups and sleep podcasts wasn’t a thing, but here’s the secret with Sleep With Me; I’m not here to put you to sleep. There’s no pressure to fall asleep with this show. I’m here to keep you company while you fall asleep. It’s a big difference.

I’m just here to hang out with you and then you fall asleep, because there’s people listening who can't sleep at all or who need a break during the day, and nobody that listens to the show wants pressure to fall asleep. That’s why the shows are over an hour. You don’t gotta worry about it 'cause I’m here to hang with you, to be your bore-friend, your bore-bae, your bore-sib, your neigh-bore, your bore-bie, your bores, your boreman, your Boris Borlaf, your best bore-friend f’eva, and just keep you company while you fall asleep. The only other thing to know is the structure of the show. The show is adjustable if you become a regular listener, but we structure the podcast in a way based on fourteen or twelve…I don't know, fourteen, twelve…twelve years of feedback.

So, let me explain to you why we structure the show the way we do and how you could adjust it if you say, well, I prefer it this way. So, the show starts off with a greeting; friends beyond the binary, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, so you feel seen and welcomed in. I don't know anybody that prefers not to be welcomed in. So, we do do that with everything we make. I don't do it in my…I mean, I wish I was so welcoming even to my own thoughts and my personal life, but I’m just not. But this show is welcoming. So, every episode starts out with a welcome. Then there’s support, sponsor support and requests for listener support, and that’s for the people that listen the most, not for new listeners or temporary listeners.

But the support enables us to put the show out for free instead of it being in a service, and there’s over 600 episodes in this free version, and that’s pretty rare. Nowadays you pay for something and you get ads. This way you don’t have to pay for it, and if you prefer something without ads, you support the show on Sleep With Me+, you don’t get…you get ad-free stuff. But most people prefer an ad-supported version that they don’t have to pay for. So, that’s what the support’s about, and that offers some relief; okay, I don't gotta worry about it or I don't have to like it. I can try it. Okay, after the support, totally separate from the support, a show within a show is our intro, and it’s about ten to twenty minutes long. It has nothing to do with the support. The reason it goes on and on and on is, well, one, I can't get to the point.

As soon as I get ‘technical glitch’ in my mind and Mr. Glitch…I’d say, I want to get dressed up and start…I could get a calling…do they still have calling…? I don't even know what a calling card is. I’d say, oh yeah, I’m not a esquire, unfortunately, but Mr. Glitch checking…I don't have any identification that says Mr. Glitch, but I’d like to check into this room as Mr. Glitch and then have as my pseudonym, Noir Chardonnay. So, if people call looking for Mr. Glitch…well, actually, Noir Chardonnay is more famous, so maybe I should check in as Noir…sorry, this isn't a hotel? Oh, sorry about that. It’s a sleep podcast intro of my own show. Okay, so why does the intro go on and on and on and then why is it different? Like, you've made 1,400 shows with 1,400 intros, plus?

I say, yeah, because whatever keeps me awake adjusts, and it needs new content. It needs things changing, otherwise it adjusts and starts to point out the repetition. But it also wants something familiar. So, the structure of the intro is familiar but not…it’s different every time so you never know what’s gonna come up, and it’s kinda the time we spend together as a community, at least most of us. Now, if you decide you don’t want the intros, you don’t like the intros, we have a story version of the podcast in every podcast app, Stories from Sleep With Me, or Bedtime Stories from Sleep With Me. So, check that out. But yeah, that’s what the intro does, but it also has a second purpose; to ease you into bedtime as a part of your wind-down routine. Instead of just putting you to sleep, it eases you into sleep.

It gives you a buffer or a landing strip, and that’s really what works for me personally and what most of the stuff I read about sleep tells me, having something nice at bedtime to ease you into bedtime works. So, kinda just see how that goes, right? But that’s what the intro’s about, winding down, whether you're getting ready for bed, in bed getting comfortable, or doing a chill activity. That’s what the intro does. But if you don’t like the intro, just check out Bedtime Stories from Sleep With Me. Or if you support the show, you get an entire podcast of ad-free, full episodes, and story-only episodes. So, see what works for you, I guess. But it is nice having a wind-down routine, to be honest, and I like it personally. It gives me something…I’m reading a book now and it makes me look forward to bedtime. So, that’s the intro.

That’s the structure of the show. That’s why I make the show. I’m really, really glad you're here. I don't even know what this anniversary episode’s gonna be about because I want to keep it sleepy, but also…I don't know if we made one last year 'cause last year and oddly enough, this year in a different way, I got a lot personally going on. But I’ve learned to keep going, how important this show is and how it’s a part of my life, and it’s one of the purposes of my life that gives me meaning and connection to help somebody out that’s hurt like I hurt, that’s suffered like I suffered in the deep, dark night. I’m sorry to use those strong terms, but that’s how it’s always felt for me, deep, dark, and night, even if it’s not nighttime.

So, I’m glad you're here whether you're new or you're a regular listener, because we all work really hard. I’ve worked hard since I started this show, and it’s a dream of mine that I only kinda had, and now it’s a dream of mine in a different way. So, I love making the show. I love all the people that work on the show or have worked on the show in the past, 'cause we all yearn and strive to help you fall asleep. But the only way it’s possible is all of the other people who really benefit from this podcast, who either put their time or their really hard-earned money into supporting the show, supporting the sponsors, spreading the word about the show, spreading the kindness around. That’s the only reason the podcast can exist.

There’s not…believe it or not, there’s not generous corporate benefactors or anything like that. It’s not how it works, right? Or if they did, they'd say, well, actually…but we prefer it this way. So, it’s all those individuals whose lives have been changed by the show that actually on a ongoing basis, on a nightly basis, they change the life of the podcast so it can be here. So, I appreciate it. If you’ve been around a little while and you say, wait a second, this podcast has been changing my life, too. How do I get on board? These are the ways you can support the show back. Thanks.

Alright everybody, it’s Scoots here, and…so, I think I was talking in the intro…this is a anniversary milestone episode. I kinda did a quick glance, and it looks like the last time we did a look back at the episodes we produced was all the way back…Episode…was up to 800 to 900. So, I thought maybe I’d go through episodes and see how long that takes and see what kind of tangents we could go on. Maybe we end up celebrating more than once? I don't know. So, yeah, let’s take a look here. Huh, how am I gonna do this? I’ll look in the ad-free Sleep With Me+ feed. Wow, we're on…by the time this comes out, we’ll be in 1,400s. Wow. This is gonna be a trip, man. But I really appreciate everybody that’s listened.

A lot of people based on the feedback we’ve been getting from the /nothankyou page have been listening that long, or at least people that fill out the /nothankyou page or the people that support the show directly, I’m sure, too. Okay, that’s…we're only at 1,100. I’m still scrolling with my thumby, thumb, thumb here. Okay, here we go. 19…2019. Oh boy, we're going into 2020. No wonder why I haven't looked back. Oh, we're out of 2020. This was actually a high watermark for the podcast.

So, my first notion when I’m looking at these dates is that right around 900 was when support for the show peaked, and things were really plugging along, I think 'cause coming out of everything and during the middle of everything in 2020 into 2021, people felt really…a sense of community and supporting things back and stuff like that, or they just realized how much…important the podcast was as a part of their life. Alright, so let’s look here. So, this is the middle…so, July…so, this is summer, 2020, and I’m not really good at lining up the dates and stuff, so I’m just gonna look at the episodes and then see what comes up. So, yeah, 900 came out…oh wait, no, we had a Real Time Review behind-the-scenes milestone. It doesn't say what we looked at there, though.

Pursue…as I peruse shows from long ago…so, obviously I couldn't watch…go through any of these shows moving forward, though we may have…that was…900 was some sort of review. Behind-the-scenes milestone…oh, 'cause it was Episode 900. So, I don't know, maybe we’ll put this out as 1,400? I don't know when 1,400 comes out. Or maybe we’ll do another look back, 'cause that’s another milestone. Twelve years, 1,400 episodes. We’ll be moving into our thirteenth calendar year, too, right? 2013 to 2025. Okay, so, let’s see, 901 was Otter Things 6, and then we had…we were covering Season 3 of Doctor Who, Gridlock. Definitely remember that. Sympathetic Vibration…then we had a really good crossover with We Fix Space Junk. That was a tribute crossover episode.

That was what ended up leading eventually to us committing to us doing seasons of Alba Salix, 'cause that…and that was kinda the support we had back in 2020, 2021. ‘Cause all the money that comes in for support we spend on production of the show, and at that time we had…we were producing extra Ray episodes. I was like, huh, we could pay one of these audio fiction podcasts to use their content. They get paid and we get content that…it saves me time 'cause I don't have to write it. They get promoted on the show. But I didn’t realize that that window would be small. But I think we're gonna be…by the time you're hearing this, hopefully we hit our goal and we're back on track, and maybe we could even look in on 2026 supporting other podcasts again.

I mean, I already support them in my…but this is kind of licensing their content kinda thing. Okay, then we had Otter Things Episode 7, Dalek…you say dalek; I say dalek…in Manhattan. Then a all-intro for the…what is that? Labor Day weekend. Then You Talk Newt to Me…I’d like to listen to that episode. It’s always funny. I mean, I have no idea what that episode was about. I mean, it was a tribute to Scott and Scott or Adam and Scott. Say one person’s last name, one person’s first name, you talking U2 to me…okay, then Otter Things, Pump Up the Dino Puffs Jam, Episode 8. More daleks in Episode…Season 3, Episode 5…Forte on Forte and Forts; I like that. That was a Boredom Institute seminar. Oh, this was back when my brother was still doing art for the show, 'cause I remember his art for that.

Then we had Otter Things Episode 9, Gerard, Bad Bards, and Doctor Max. Then The Lazarus Effect with Doctor Who, Episode 6. Bored Game Builders Masquerade…huh, I’ve been packing up my board games. Trying to think of when I last played Masquerade. Then Beaver Bard Studios, Otter Things 10. Betel Juice; that was 915, Tale of the Tape. That was years before the new movie would come out. Then I look back at the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown in September. That was way back, 456. Okay, so maybe this is when it starts. Let me look. I don't know. Then Otter Things 11, then Creaky Dulcet Memory Collection, a Carole King Journey. Spirit…if Sleep With Me was a store in a mall, what would it be? I remember the art for that, though. Must have been based on song randomization. Oh, then Bake-Off.

Was this our first season of Bake-Off? Collection 6, Series 9, whatever you call it. The first half of Biscuits Week…I guess so. Then we had another crossover with Vast Horizon, another fun one. Again, this was back when I was like, man, let’s do this. Otter Things 12, then the second-half of Biscuits…Biscuit Week, Otter Things finale, From A Distance, then Sleepy Adventures in Reading. Wow, that was 922? I was just packing that textbook up. That’s so interesting. Then Trending Tuesday Autumnal, Peeping Leaves and Bonnets. Wow, time flies, man. Oh, then Mandalorian, Chapter 9, The Marshal. That has a guest star in it, right? I just watched…started watching another show that he’s on. That’s fun. Then a all-intro for Thanksgiving, maybe? Then The Passenger; I love that name.

I think that was…I’m trying to think if that’s the episode I was thinking of, but that was a really good episode, too, Chapter 10. Was Grogu the passenger? Oh, Baby Oso; sorry, Scoots. But yeah, that came out…Chapter 10. Santa Element; that was a repeat, right? Or was that the first time it came out? No. Wow. Gilda answers the questions children…okay, so…wow, that was 929. Interesting. Yeah, wow. I just had re-listened to that about a year ago. North Pole Chronicles, As the North Pole Turns, Episode 1. So, that was a series I tried to do about…kinda like As the World Turns, like the first soap opera. The Heiress, Mandalorian, Chapter 11, another good one. North Pole Local…wow, that was in 2020, huh? Interesting. It’s hard to believe we’ve done 400 episodes since then. Really, I mean, I’m not kidding. It’s been five years.

Man, it does seem like just yesterday. Five years ago, really? Wow. Kissing Mrs. Claus; that was As the North Pole Turns. Kind of, again, like As the World Turns. 2020 parade, Thanksgiving Day Parade. Santa’s Twin…you always gotta have twins and kissing in soap operas. So, that’s another As the North Pole Turns Chronicles. Ray’s Disney Holly…I’d like to listen to that one. Which park was that? Oh no, that was in Florida. A trip back in time for a holiday…I think I remember that holiday trip. Okay, and then we were running repeats or all-intros for the Christmas break. Wow, we came back, though, early. Unprecedented, Scoots. We did Mandalorian, Lasage. That was Chapter 12. Then Clouds That Look Like Trains, which I guess was a Trending Tuesday and a personal story.

That episode just came out in Spanish, I think, on Duerme Conmigo, which you probably heard about now. If not, check it out in a podcast app of choice. One Kiss Farm; that was a John August board game. It goes by a different name, but that was a bored game unboxing. Oh, So Sleepy…many listeners posit that this was when Sleep With Me got a shout-out on Mandalorian, but I never got a confirmation of it. But when I finally get settled on my next move, I will get that frame in subtitles just in case…framed, because…just either way. Was it an accident that he said to Baby Grogu, oh, you're getting oh, so sleepy or not? Many…I would have never thought it, but listeners said, hey, wait a second, there’s no way that’s an accident. Say, okay, well, some…I guess somebody out there likes me, so that’s cool.

Gondolan Knocks; that’s another one that came out on Duerme Conmigo or will, 'cause I was working with the team over there on that one. Then The Jedi, Mandalorian, Chapter 13. Okay, then JLOT…okay, so this was…yeah, this is all impacted. JLOT, Journey into the Land of Tomorrow, known affectionately behind the scenes as JLOT 'cause it’s easier to say; JILOT. JILOT…we don’t have the T in there twice, though. But yeah, that’s what we call it, JILOT, or I call it, and Rusty Biscuit. Okay, then the amazing podcast, Orbiting Human Circus of the Air. We did a tribute crossover there. Definitely remember that one just 'cause I have such an affinity for Julian and Orbiting Human Circus and Christy that works on that show. So, I was a little…I tried to be…I listened to the episode probably a hundred times.

Okay, then Journey into the Land of Tomorrow, Episode 2, Plush Gator and Curry Bot, The Believer, Mandalorian, Chapter 15, Mandaborian…Boulevard of the Gymnast Dropout, a personal story episode, 949. Then Skippy, Travel with Skippy, Journey into the Land of Tomorrow, Episode 8. This all takes place in Disney World’s Tomorrowland, an imaginary version of it, but that was refurbed. It’s a board…it’s a group of friends in a different world playing…it’s pretty…it’s a lot of nesting pieces there. But I was just thinking 'cause it takes place on a couple different attractions that used to be…none of them are in Tomorrowland now, and this imaginary Land of Tomorrow was more steam, Victorian style or whatever they…the characters explain all that.

Okay, then A Safe Place for Grogu, Mandalorian, Chapter 16, Steam Genie, JLOT…oh wait, we missed 952. Oh, these are out of order; that’s why. So, 952 was More Than Waffles, Real Time Recipe, then Steam Genie, Journey into the Land of Tomorrow, Episode 8, then Cake Week, Great British Bake-Off. We get back to it…Episode 2. Walking Back to Welford Park…then a Indiana Jones Tale of the Tape, 955, then A Little Bit of Consensus; that’s JLOT Episode 5. Then Bread Week, Episode 3…Self-Propelled Marionette? Oh, that was one that was…that’s a smart puppet, right? Is that the one where she climbs the thing? I think so. That was that long ago? Wow. Man, we're…this is going good. It’s just such a journey into the past. Tick and Tack…huh, interesting. I don't remember this episode.

Journey into the Land…I mean, sometimes I title them…Tick and Tack are what Chip and Dale are called in France, I think…Episode 6. Dessert Week is Bake-Off, Episode 4. Wow, another personal story, My Own Personal Spring. I wonder if this is about the wet…the home I was…I didn’t grow up there. Or, I guess I did, but I don't…but there was a spring or there was wet…I don't know. Not where we lived, but there was a creek behind some of the houses that I guess also was a marsh-type thing because it was a spring. I don't know. At some point I’ll get back there and look into it when I move east, which by the time you hear this, I’ll have done, maybe. I don't know. You know more than me. So, it’s…Florence and Dancing Ducks; that’s Episode 7 of Journey into the Land of Tomorrow.

Spice Week, Bake-Off 5…okay, then Ray Rides Rise Early, where we had to get up before 6:00 a.m. to go on that Rise of Resistance. I don't know what year that was opened, but I just remember having…be like, are you kidding me? It’s like, oh yeah, if you want to get on this ride, you had to be there before…I think we literally got up at like 4:30, and then we did that again for Hagrid’s ride in…I don't know what year that was. But I was like, I’m not…I think I’ve gotten to the point in my life where it’s like, I could wait ‘til a year or two after the ride opens, maybe. I don't know. I guess I’m still a pushover. But yeah…got up before 6:00 a.m. to go on a theme park ride. Phil Fushigi Look Back…that was…yeah, it was Riventeen.

It was a tribute to My Brother, My Brother, and Me, from all the way back…Episode 504, then Journey into the Land of Tomorrow, Episode 8, then Great British Bake-Off, Episode 5, then a Radio Shack catalog from 1983, then Journey into the Land of Tomorrow, Episode 9, then Bake-Off, Episode 7, then the Agatha crossover with The Quiet Journeys of Professor Atwood, then Lasso of Steam, Journey into the Land of Tomorrow, Episode 10, Great British Bake-Off, Episode 8. Llama Cat Dog Roommates was only 973? I would have thought that was Episode 1,100. It really feels like I just made that one, too. Like, I can…there’s just certain episodes that are…obviously there’s some I’m like, wait, I don't even recognize that one.

This one I remember, and I remember it 'cause it was a Trending Tuesday and looking at these different things to randomize it, and just thinking of those three living together and trying to figure…negotiate that. Okay, then we have Journey into the Land of Tomorrow 11, Pastry Week, Bake-Off, Episode 9…okay, then there’s a retrospective of one…oh, this maybe is a repeat. Yeah, this is a repeat from Episode 707…03. Retrospectives from 502, 700, and 703, of Episodes 1 through 700. Then another Trending Tuesday, Pish Posh, that I can't quite remember, then a all-intro for May holiday weekend, then Journey…Temba and Teamwork, Journey into the Land of Tomorrow 12, and then the finale of Bake-Off, Episode 10. Okay, then Bored Game…oh no, yeah, Bake-Off, then Ping Pong Tacos Bored Game Unboxing.

Those were two different games, Hot Taco or what…I don't know, Pass the Taco, maybe, and…yeah, gifts for the 2019…this interactive game, and then Taco vs. Burrito. Okay, then JLOT 13, a look back at that. So, we're into summer 2021, almost. Q Who? Snore Trek, TNG, Episode 2…Season 2, Episode 16. Great Loofa Games; I remember that Cloud Tower episode. Lady Witchbeard, Episode 1, Season 2 or 3. I don't know. Best of Both Worlds Part 1; that’s Season 3, Episode 26 from Snore Trek. Bernie BTS and Stridey and Lily…that, again, seems like a episode that was made more recently. I just remember that one. Then a all-intro for July holiday, then Tales…Project Sleepy Governor, Tales of Lady Witchbeard, Episode 2, then TNG, Best of Both Worlds Part 2, Beverly Hills Cop…that’s interesting.

It came out in the summer. It’s a summer movie. Tale of the Tape, Don Dankles No. 1…that was Lady Witchbeard 3. I, Borg, Episode 5; that’s another…that’s Hugh, right? Hugh…that was a good episode of TNG. These are a Few of My Favorite Roles; that was a Trending Tuesday episode. We got Sticky Map Making, Lady Witchbeard 4, Descent Part 1…that’s Snore Trek, TNG, Episode 6…Season 6, Episode 26. Oh, then…yeah, this Ray holiday trip, No Eggnog Milkshake, Says Day 3. I still remember that burn. I don't know if I’ve ever gotten that eggnog milkshake. Galactic…something. Anti-galactics or something. I mean, I’ve had a eggnog milkshake. I’ve had a lot of eggnog in my day, all NA eggnog, but…Library Island, Tales of the Tape 5, Descent Part 2…we're in August of 2021.

We're not even…we're almost to 1,000, though, which is a big milestone. Listicles and Icicles; that was Trending Tuesday, then a Round of Thanks, Episode 1,000, where we just went through thank yous, I think. I can't believe we made it to 1,000. Then we made it to…what are we on, 1,300 or 1,400? Okay, so, we’ll get to 1,500 at some point. Oh, then a Real Time Recipe…milestone…okay, 'cause that was a big deal getting to 1,000. So, we did two things, especially in 2020, ‘19…2020, ‘21. Yeah, Soothing Pizzas of Gratitude, Foggy to Froggy; that was Lady Witchbeard, Episode 6. TNG, Season 4, Episode 14, Clues, an all-intro episode, then Chrononauts Bored Game Unboxing. That was thanks to a listener who works for that company telling me about that game, Alison.

Isthmus of Newt, Lady Witchbeard 7, The Good Place, Season 2…alright, everything is great. Then The Octopus Wore Gloves, a Trending Tuesday; I definitely remember that one. Quite Connie, Lady Witchbeard 8, Dance Dance Resolution, A Good Place to Sleep, Season 2, Episode 3 and 4. Euro Disney PR Project…continues me using stuff from college. I did one recently, I think. Or, maybe…was that a year ago or a few months ago? I have no idea…where I do my speeches, or maybe it hasn’t come out yet when I’m recording this. I don't know, I record so much. But yeah, that was a good one. I think we already repeated that one. It was so popular. 13th See, Lady Witchbeard 9, Existential Trolley; that’s Good Place 5 and 6.

A JCPenney catalog without toys…that’s…I guess no toys, but it was a holiday style, then Lady Witchbeard 10, Janet, Michael, and Derek; that’s Episode 7 and 8 of Season 2 of Good Place. The Balloon Monarch, 10…Episode 1017. Then Lady Witchbeard 11, Pirate Pensioners. Leap to Best South…that was…Self; Good Place, Season 2, Episodes 9 and 10. Then one that’s probably been repeated more than once even though it came out, 1020, another really, really popular episode, Ben Cooper Costume Catalog. Yeah, definitely a classic. Then Good Place, Burrito and IHOP, Season 2, Episode 11 and 12, then Lady Witchbeard 12…oh, then World of Motion. Wow, that was back in 1023. We just did Horizons, but we did World of Motion. That was a good one. Those are rides that don’t exist anymore.

Then behind the scenes of Lady Witchbeard, 1024, then Good Place to Sleep, Season 2 finale, Somewhere Else, then a all-intro episode for the turkey day…Fan of Star Kid, 1027; I remember recording that episode 'cause it was on my first trip, probably for Thanksgiving or…oh no, it was for…it was autumnal. It was right around trick-or-treating time. North Pole Gardens Train Tour; so, we did another train tour a year later. JCPenney Toys Catalog; that was 1030. North Pole Train Tour; that was another one. So, those were successful. So, I was like, okay, let’s do another one. Great British Bake-Off Holiday; that was 1029. Okay, then these are out of order for some reason. Oh, those…'cause those were 1030 and 1031, so that’s fine.

Then another holiday…more of Ray’s holiday trip with Scooter, then the return of Fearless Flyers, fall and August of 2021, then we had…is that a bonus episode or you got put out? I don't know. Then North Pole Train 3. Wow, so we got three North Pole…I remember doing those. Trending Tuesday…then a all-intro for December, then…oh, Summer’s…On Summer’s Horseback, a listener favorite. Then the Thanksgiving Day Parade from 2021. So, wow, this is before we kinda changed it up. Purple Porpoise with Purpose; definitely remember that one with the moose. That was a Trending Tuesday style episode. Then Cake Week, Bake-Off, Collection 5, Season 8, Episode 1. Oh, then a exclusive for…I think these have been getting put out, though. This was the 1990…1989 holiday parade with Ray. That was a bonus episode.

Then Action Park Bored Game Unboxing, This Old Boat, a Trending Tuesday style episode with personal story stuff, another bonus show in this feed; Bake…Facts from Bake-Off. I think we’ve put that out in the public feed, though, at some point. Then Biscuits, Great British Baking Off to Sleep, Season…Episode 2. Case of the Approachable Safe; wow, so that was 1041? Really? 2022. That seems…that’s another one. That was Lady Marple’s last episode. I didn’t realize she had a nearly…over a three-year absence from the show. I would have thought that was 2024, to be honest, or 2023. Okay, all-intro, 779…that was for the holidays. Okay, then Spice Friends Episode 1, 2022. That’s January. Great British Bake-Off, Bread Week, Episode 3, Meme Cats, that’s 10…oh, that’s when I looked up cat memes.

I’ve tried a lot of different…some stuff doesn't stick. That was just too much…it was too hard to coordinate, I think. So, we haven't done anymore meme catting. Cat…reading of cat memes. Then Spice Friends 2, then Caramel Week or Caramel Week depending on how you say it, Episode 4 of Bake-Off. Valentines for Laundry; that was a personal story, Trending Tuesday. Then the original Datemoi, Datemo. That was 427. That got rereleased. Then we had Cinnamon Stick, Spice Friends free…Spice Friends 3. Pudding Week; that was Bake-Off, Episode 5…oh, then a crossover with Night Water, my friend Adam’s newsletter, Radio Night Water Vibes, WNWQ crossover. Hey Atoll; that’s one of my favorite titles of a episode.

It probably came up in a intro anyway, though, but…Spice Friends 4, Episode 6 of Bake-Off, Live Lake Doll Play; I never finished that game. I think I pay…I don't know…I think I bought that game, too. Then a Ray bonus about the sci-fi drive-in theatre for supporters, then Bake-Off 7, Pillow Pet Adventures…wow, Pillow Pet, how you doing, man? Can you hear me? Pillow Pet Adventures; that was a Trending Tuesday style episode, March 2022. That’s Episode 1056. Then 1057 was Bontons. That’s Spice Friends 6. Oh, wait, we missed…for some reason it’s out of order. Spice Friends 5 was Long Feather Lime Leaf. Then 1058 is Bake-Off 8, Forgotten Bakes. 1059, an all-intro, and then Ray Springs. So, this is Ray’s thing, swimming in springs. Oh, wait, so…no, this is visiting Florida. Huh, I’ll have to listen to that one.

I mean, I remember our trip of hitting three springs in one day, or maybe it was four, or four bodies of water. New Furry Toys, Spice Friends 7, Patissier Week; that’s Bake-Off 9. Trem and King Wendle; that’s another story that I wrote as a kid, a personal story. Gunky Astronaut, Spice Friends 8…now we're in April 2022. Finale of Bake-Off; that’s Episode 10, then another crossover with Bunny Michaels, XO, Higher Self. Bunny Michael, right? That was a great episode, too, talking about sleep and self-care. Spice Friends 9, Spicy Cooking, then Doctor Who, Season 3, Episode 7. So, after a little break, the Doctor’s back. Then Bored Game Unboxing of…oh, but not board games; the magic that I bought during the time…during the 2020s. Return of the Jedi for May the Fourth Be With You, my Tale of the Tape. That’d be interesting.

Then a throw-back to Morley, Borely, and Casper, Episode 362, then A Giant Relay Race Dance Party, Spice Friends 10, then Sleeping with Doctor Who, Human Nature, Episode 8, then a crossover with Sleepy Science of Happy…Science of Happiness Podcast. I got interviewed on there. That was really enjoyable. Spice Friends 11, then Doctor Who 9, Sleeping with Doctor Who, then Love of Hills, talking about when my daughter was in high school. We just did another episode revisiting this that we recorded — it hasn’t come out yet — where I actually go on the hike. Then Spice Friends 12, Home with Penpals, Doctor Who, Season 3, Episode 10, Blink. Then Spice Friends Recap; that was 1080, June. Father Figure Day with Ray; that was one of these Father’s Days we spent together.

Me and my daughter just had another amazing one when I’m recording this, which is in the past, but…and we kinda relived some of this. We ate at the Pizzeria Uno, walked around International Boulevard, played mini-golf. So, maybe that’ll be a episode one day. Then Doctor Who 11, Utopia, then a throwback to Spruce Museum. That was 525, eh? Interesting. That’s a pretty classic episode. Then a all-intro for the Fourth of July. Teapot and Flannel, Trending Tuesday. That’s 1083. 1084, a Sharper Image catalog. The catalog…I still gotta track down the catalog that’s on my list, though. I haven't tried to look for it in a while, so I guess I’ll try to do that. Let’s see, Bake-Off Facts; that was a bonus episode.

Then Drums, Doctor Who, Episode 12, Tale of the Tape or a Trending Tuesday…it says Trending Tuesday, Gandalf and the Fellowship of Scooter. I don't know, I wonder, did…? Fast and Furrowed; that’s definitely…that was a classic. That’s another episode I have a lot of love for, 1088. If you're looking for episodes, check out Fast and Furrowed, 1088. It may even have been rebroadcast, 'cause it really was just one that stuck with me. It’s about bike riding, and it’s a little bit like Fast and…driving in a car. Last of the Time Lords; that’s Doctor Who, Episode 13, Season 3. Mumble and Hum, then Lulling with Lasso, Season 1, Episode 1, then a crossover with Curious State with Doug Frasier, my buddy, then another unboxing of magic from Marvin’s Magic Bag. Then Nuns in Space, Season 3, Episode 1.

Wow, we did a Season 3 of that, eh? I have no idea…no, I do. Apparently we did. Okay, then we got Lulling with Lasso, Season 1, Episode 2. The first Fearless Flyer episode was 498. That got re-released. Then Day in the Bay, a personal story, another great time I had with my daughter. Man, that was 2022, another one that seems like yesterday. Gob Balloons, Nuns in Space, Episode 2. Trent Crim, The Independent; that’s Lasso 3. Diablo, which…then Game Show Planet, Nuns in Space, Season 3, Episode 3. For the Children, Lulling with Lasso 4, then a Labor Day all-intro episode, then Spelling Bee. Wow, I remember that one, too.

It came out in August, but I recorded it during the school year because I remember driving to my daughter’s school, checking it. Stairway to Shooting Stars, Nuns in Space 4, Lulling with Lasso 5, Lansbury Con; that was probably where I tried to pitch at a conference. Gold Stars and Bugels, Nuns in Space 5, Two Aces, Lasso, Season 1, Episode 6. Oh yeah, there is a Tale of the Tape for Lord of the Rings, probably just for the Fellowship of the Ring, though, right? I mean, there’s no way I could have tried to remember all of that. No way. Sleepy Wish; so, there’s another…1,111. 1,110 was Nuns in Space 6, so I wonder what we did with that one.

I probably just wanted to keep making the show, so I guess my wish was granted for the next…'cause that would have been when stuff started to contract a little bit, and we’ve kind of been on that path since then. I guess we're hopefully…I mean, we're trying to get it to be on a upswing now. But yeah, fall of 2022, huh? Interesting. So, that’s three years ago. Make Rebecca Great Again, Lasso 7, Erasable Ballpoint Perm; that’s a Trending Tuesday personal story. Nuns in Space 7, Lasso 8, then a classic, Costume Nostalgia. That’s 609. Then…oh boy, then our first trip from the year before to Ray at Knott’s Autumnal Joy Farm. Man, that was great, one of the great trips of my life, that first trip to Knott’s Autumnal Joy Farm with Ray and my daughter. Then Lulling with Lasso 9, then another looking at magic kits that I ordered.

Never successfully done magic, but I enjoy watching magic. Nuns in Space 8, The Hope Gets You; that’s Lasso 10. Nuns in Space 9, Nana’s Book of Quotations; that was looking in Bartlett’s, I think, or just famous quotations. Nuns in Space 10, all-intro for Thanksgiving, Captain Fantasma; that’s Episode 11. Stan was in love with her. Thanks…2013 Thanksgiving Day Parade; so, that’s when I finally gave myself a break and went into the past. Okay, then Carol of the Bells, a Lasso-themed holiday episode. We still haven't…have we done Season 2? Maybe? I don't know. Holiday toy catalog from the eighties; there you go. People are gonna want…that’s 1,128 if you're looking for that one.

Nuns in Space, Season 3, Episode 12, Heart of Delusion, Sleeping with Who Holiday, Season 4, Episode 0, then Carol with the Clomps Holiday, Bake-Off, 2018 holiday, Christmas Tree that Took a Walk; that was a classic episode we rebroadcast, and also Real Time Stuffing and Mashed Potatoes, and then a New Year’s Eve all-intro episode. Then we get back to work with 1,134, Hive Bottoms, a couple board games unboxing. Then wrapping up Nuns in Space, then TNG came back, Episode 15…Season 7, Episode 15, Lower Decks. Another crossover with Profeshor…Professor…Profeshor…Professor Atwood, Giant Friendly Fish. Interesting; I can remember running in the Oakland Hills listening to that one. I kinda remember that, but…Greatest Cereal Ever, Make Great Pets 3, Don’t Fall in Love with Biology Lab; I also remember that one. That was kinda like…what’s the difference between that and Bunsen Burner Love? Any idea? I don't know. Then a all-intro episode. That was when we started numbering our all-intros, maybe. Another TNG episode, Season 3, Episode 21, Hollow Pursuits, looking at Mad Magazine Issue 172, April 1976, Trending Tuesday. Tournament of the Bands, Make Great Pets, Episode 4.

Geordie Falls in Love; that’s TNG, Season 3, Episode 6. Ray Reads Receipts…I can't believe we haven't done more of those. Maybe when I move I’ll do that, 'cause that’s pretty fun. He just goes through my stuff. Elephant in the Abacus; that was Great Pets, Episode 5. Chain of Command, TNG, Part 1, Season 6, Episode 10. There’s a classic. 1,153, Pickle Carver. I remember that one. 1,154…Make Great Pets 6, Bosun Castle Mysteries. That’s based on…what is that castle called? Bolt Castle. Come On In, bedtime edition. That’s another textbook that I have here that I just packed up. Keeping it with me, man, just in case anymore content…Chain of Command, Episode 2 or Part 2; that was TNG Season 6, Episode 11. Make Great Pets 7, Mystery Sampler, then a all-intro, Imaginary Friend Reunion; that was a listener favorite.

Maybe that’s so I could take a spring break there. Then The Apostate; that’s Mandalorian, Chapter 17, Season 3, Episode 1. Then Writer’s Pack XL Unboxing and More; that was another John August…I just packed that up, too. It’s funny. Futurist Model UN; that’s Make Great Pets, Episode 8. We’ll get to 1,200 here and then we’ll wrap it up. Mines of Mandalore; that was the next episode of Mandalorian. Then Luco Land; that was another Night Water crossover. Then Mandalorian, Chapter 19, Season 3, Episode 3. Here’s my proposal for new blue milk, me and Ray, which we made a whole proposal to that guy running Disney. He’s not running it anymore, but…Wendy Marstrap, I guess, was doing it about new blue milk. I still think they could use it. I’d seriously sign away the rights.

‘Cause, one, I still don’t think that stuff tastes any good. I’m not paying for it. But two, it’s like, you could breathe a little life into that area. Engineered Adventure, Make Great Pets 9, Foundling, that’s Chapter 20 of Mandalorian. Bring it on Down to Thoughts and Things; that was 1,169. Make Great Pets 10, Breezy Ticket, then a listener classic, 433, Real Time Wallbed Assembly. So, that was based on my last move or when we bought a bed for my daughter. Pirates of Nevarro or Being…I really liked that episode of Mandalorian. Really fun. An all-intro in May or…oh yeah, 'cause it was a May holiday. I Know Dino crossover with my friends Garret and Sabrina’s podcast, Make Great Pets 11, Finding Droid Bars; that was Mandalorian 6, Chapter 22.

Then a Trader Joe’s shopping list, then Thanks for 1,200.
