    [START OF RECORDING]

SCOOTER: Friends beyond the binary, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Legos, leggies, Duplos…I didn’t say ‘legals’. I thought that would be too cheesy, but…Legos made of…cheese block…blocks of cheese and generic ones…I don't know if…the Duplos may have been…was that…was the Duplos a spinoff group from Legos? I think those are official. There was other ones we played with that off…if you feel off-brand, holy moly, talk about story of my life. Welcome to Sleep With Me, the podcast that’s here to put you to sleep, believe it or not. My name’s Scooter and I’m here to keep you company and take your mind off of stuff so you could fall asleep versus just putting you to sleep, which you may…it’s confusing to explain.

Here’s…I mean, I’m already confused 'cause I’m trying to picture in my mind…I know there was one bland of blocks…bland of blocks…brand of blocks that we played with as children that were off-brand, but I don't think they were interchangeable. So, I don't know. But welcome to Sleep With Me. This show is very different. I’m here to keep you company like I said, like a friend in the deep, dark night. Imagine; somebody’s just gonna build…somebody that can barely speak is going to attempt to describe himself putting together…in the future putting together Lego blocks, and all to put you to sleep. So, a pretty good deal. This show is very different, though. It does take some getting used to. I think you might like it if you're looking for something different.

I don't know, maybe you tried different sleep audio or listening to nature sounds, but in the past what’s worked for you is listening to a TV on in the other room or whatever or talking…telling your roommate or your friend to talk to you, but you're not really paying attention to them. That’s what Sleep With Me is. It’s…it works in a indirect, friendly way. So, give it a few tries. See how it goes. I’m really happy. I’m really happy to see all the regular listeners like you. Holy cow, good to see you. Wait a second, are you a new listener or are you a regular…? Oh, wow, really? Hm. Where do you fall on the…? I mean, are you in the Playmobil wheel…world or Lego world? Do you Duplo? Was that ever a shirt, ‘Do you Duplo?’ I mean, talk about…I don't even know.

I don't actually…I don't want to get into it 'cause I was saying, that could go on…I mean, it wouldn't be on my dating profile, but it would be a very specific way. But then they say opposites attract, right? This podcast works on…you say, this is the opposite of what I thought would put me to sleep. Maybe it ends up putting you to sleep anyway. Do you Duplo? So, yeah, anyway, sorry, usually I get to the point quicker. I mean, this is just the barely beginning of the show.

So, what we got coming up is support. If you wish to skip that, you just get Sleep With Me+ or support the show, but that keeps the show coming out free for everybody that wants it, then we’ll have a long, meandering intro that’s meant to ease you into bedtime, and then later on I’ll be putting together some…the Legos in my mind, as Simon and Garfunkel never said. I mean, maybe that’s what happened. I would say that Garfunkel may…Art may have said, Paul, do you Duplo? He said, that’s the last…that’s all I could take, man. What do you mean, do I Duplo? I thought we had some…we did…no, I play with Legos. Or maybe he said, no, no, I don't…I like to listen to a grown man try to describe Legos in a very ineffective way, a man that knows…his vocabulary is small enough, but when it comes to Legos, it’s miniscule.

But, yeah…or maybe he just said, yeah, I Duplo, Art, but I’d rather…I’d prefer to Duplo…I mean, what is…? If you go from a duo to a uno…Unplo does not work. I mean, it did; Simon and Farfunkel…that’s what I was saying, Fart Arfunkel, but…oh boy, I better get to the show. So, yeah, I’m glad you're here, and these are the ways…people that support the show directly…man, I can't believe people enpower me to do this twice a week. Thank you so much for supporting the show directly, supporting the sponsors, encouraging me. Thank you so much, and what do you say we get on with the show?

INTRO: [INTRO MUSIC] Hey, are you up all night tossing, turning, mind racing? Trouble getting to sleep? Trouble staying asleep? Well, welcome to Sleep With Me, the podcast that puts you to sleep. We do it with a bedtime story. Alls you need to do is get in bed, turn out the lights, and press Play. I’m gonna do the rest. What I’m going to attempt to do is create a safe place where you could set aside whatever’s keeping you awake.

They could be thoughts on your mind, things you're thinking about about the past, the present, the future, feelings, anything coming up for you emotionally related to those thoughts or feelings that are just there, it could be physical sensations, changes in time, temperature, routine, you could be going through something, traveling, getting over something, have guests, maybe you work a different schedule or a different shift, whatever it is. The only reason I kinda go through that stuff is to let you know you're not alone and that there’s other people out there that get it or kinda get it or see you in a way…in a indirect way, 'cause most of us…a lot of us that listen to this podcast…you say, I prefer not to be seen. I mean, if you're like me, you want it both ways, right?

But you don’t want to…I would rather be not…I would rather be…do I want to be noticed and not seen or seen and not noticed? Oh boy, that’s a conundrum. Talk about paradoxical. I don't even know which one I want. I know I only want one, though, not both. Even in other planes of existence, they say, that’s just not…I have unlimited powers and that’s just not…well, which one? Could you give me one or the other? That wasn’t in any of the movies with the blue genie in there, but you'd say…I’d say, forget it. I don't know, you'd say, you finally freed me, because the lamp no longer works. But whatever it is that’s keeping you awake, I want you to know there’s other people listening right now and myself who have struggled with it.

Maybe we haven't struggled with it in the same way you have, but we can relate to how it feels. Even if we don’t know exactly…even if I haven't been…let me just speak for myself, right? Even if I haven't been through exactly what you're going through, I know how it feels for me. So, I can say, man, if it’s like that for you or anything close, it’s tough. But the cool thing about the show is there’s enough people listening right now across the world…there’s somebody that really does get where you are right now, and they're really happy you're here and they really hope that this podcast can help you like it’s helped them, so much so that now they're sitting here listening to me and thinking of you. When they first got here, there was somebody else doing that for them.

So, they hope that this becomes a place for you, a safe place, a nice place where you say, man, now I’m in bed getting comfortable and I’m thinking of somebody that’s struggling like I did before this podcast started to help me out, or I still do. I still do on and off. Last night, oh boy, was it not a solid night of sleep. So, yeah. So, I’m really glad you're here. I guess that’s what I mean, and I really hope this show can help you out and that you feel welcome, because you deserve a good night's sleep. You deserve a place where you could get the rest you need so your life is more manageable, and ideally you get it on a regular basis so you could be out there flourishing.

But you also deserve a bedtime that you don’t have to dread, that you can look forward to or at least feel neutral about and say, okay, well, at least I got that dude rambling about…was he talking about Duplo blocks? Well, he just refers to it in the singular, Duplo. Do you think…? I don't even know what ‘dipolar’ is, but I’m just thinking of words that are Duplo-like. Duplex, obviously. Is it a brand or…? No offense; is it a sub-brand? I’m not throwing shade. I mean, I just mean…you know what I mean. Or maybe you don’t, because I’m having to explain myself. I’m pretty sure it’s a sub-brand or whatever. I don't know. I better stop…if I could stop talking, I would. But you deserve a bedtime where you could get the rest you need and that…or you say, yeah, well, at least I got this podcast to keep me company.

It’s not too bad. He’s alright. He doesn't know much about much and he’s always talking about nothing, but I kinda like it. So, just see how it go…oh, wait, no, that’s not…so, that’s why I’m here, is to help you fall asleep. That’s my next piece of advice. The way the show works is I send my voice across the deep, dark night. I’m gonna use lulling, soothing, creaky, dulcet tones, pointless meanders, and superfluous tangents. So, I’m gonna go off topic, I’m gonna get mixed up, I’m gonna forget what I was talking about…I mean, I think we covered that. Usually the teaser is two minutes. I think I was talking for five or six about blocks, and…so, that’s like…my voice is not traditionally soothing.

I don't ever get to the point, and that takes some getting used to 'cause this is a podcast…you just barely listen to it, almost like background noise or a TV on in the other room. You could kinda barely listen to me. I don't know, it’s hard to explain, right? Or just put me at the bedside. Let me play on and on and on like a TV show you're not paying attention to. But in this case, you have full permission to and you don’t have to worry about where you left off. Or, did I sleep through an entire season last night of something interesting? No, just the podcast guy. He didn’t know…he was trying to remember stuff he didn’t have access to, and he was talking about…he said, yeah, and then he petered out there. He didn’t even…he couldn't even keep it going. So, it’s a podcast you barely listen to.

It also isn't meant to put you to sleep. I’m here to keep you company while you fall asleep, which is a little bit different. There’s no pressure to fall asleep with this show. I’m gonna be here over an hour to keep you company whether you're awake or asleep. This show is here so that you could listen to it and then not listen to it. Not put you to sleep; that’s the reason the shows are over an hour, is I’m here to the very end, and you could sleep through it or wake up when you need it. Or if you can't sleep at all, I’m here to keep you company.

‘Cause that’s my job, is to be your bore-friend, your bore-bae, your bore-sib, your neigh-bore, your bore-bud, your bore-bestie, your Borbie, your bores, your boreman, your…what…other ones, your best bore-friend f’eva to keep you company while you fall asleep and just to keep talking and to be a friendly voice in the deep, dark night. Now, all that said, it does take some getting used to for this show. Most regular listeners…'cause when you get here, you're gonna have certain expectations, right? You say, a sleep podcast…the person should be…I don't know. You could fill in the blank there; calm, centered, melodious, well-spoken, know the difference between a Lego and a Duplo, clear…and a Diplo. Do you think…? This is, I guess, a joke that just popped in my head.

Again, I only tell partial jokes, but…what did the Lego mother say to the Lego father…? What did the Lego mother say to the Lego father about the baby block? Or, no, about the…? Whatever. They're a Duplo off the old block. Yeah, it’s…that’s why I’m only here to put you to sleep. Oh, but most people don’t like this show, 'cause you get here; you're skeptical, you're doubtful, you're like, what is this guy going on and on about? That’s a honest-to-goodness normal reaction for most listeners when they get here, 'cause this show kinda is an acquired taste. After your second or third try…this is for most people that support the show directly, what they say. They realize, oh…on the third try, I realized, oh, he’s doing exactly what he’s supposed to be doing.

It’s just that I could…never expected that something like this would…I had no idea I was looking for something like this my whole life. I had no idea something like this would work. So, I’m really glad I found it. So, just give it a few tries and see how it goes. You got nothing to lose. If you decide you don’t like the show, there’s a website, sleepwithmepodcast.com/nothankyou, with other sleep podcasts and sleepy stuff on there that you could check out. ‘Cause you still deserve a good night's sleep even if you don’t like me, and the majority of people don’t. The majority of people don’t like the show, which is fine 'cause it’s for only the people it works for, which I hope is you. So, let’s just see how it goes, right? It’s just like having a tasting of something.

You say, okay…I mean, imagine that, if you could go to stores and say…yeah, come on in, sample it for free. But yeah, if you don’t like it, I’ll tell you where to go. That’s what Sleep…that’s really…'cause I do care, because I’ve been there. That’s what the spirit of /nothankyou…and it took me a while to get used to…most people don’t like me, 'cause believe me, they’ve let me know. But at this point it’s like, yeah, no, come on in, check it out. No harm. You don’t like it, just…there’s another place right down the street. But go ahead and taste our stuff, because it is a little bit different taste. Yeah, we make desserts in the shape of trademark blocks or whatever. Really? No. I mean, in my imagination I do, but…so, that’s the show. It takes some getting used to. The other thing to know is the structure of the show is very intentional.

I always talk about the structure of the show just so you know…I see where you're at. I like to meet the new listener or the regular listener, the listeners who are having a tough time, where they are, and we put a lot of work into the show over the past eleven years and taken a lot of feedback. So, there’s a reason the show’s structured the way it is, but it’s also adaptable. So, as you become a regular listener, you kinda decide what works for you. But the way most people listen to it is they listen to this ad-supported version of the show linearly and they wind down and get ready for bed until the story starts, and then they kinda drift off during the story. Then a small percentage of people have a thirty-minute sleep timer, a forty-minute sleep timer, and a sixty-minute sleep timer or a timer that ends at the end of the episode.

So, yeah, the show starts off with a greeting so you feel greeted, right? You feel welcomed in, seen; friends beyond the binary, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, whatever, blocks…fans of…if you like Playmobil or Legos or none, you're welcome here. Believe me, if you're like me, if you're aspirational, have both. I didn’t even know where we got a Playmobil catalog when I was a kid, but I remember looking at that thing with a thirst, but of like, holy moly. We got some second-hand Playmobil stuff from one of my coworkers, and that was pretty cool. But, whatever…what was my point? Is that…oh, the structure of the show…so you feel greeted and welcome, then there’s support so that paying for the podcast is optional. A lot of people just prefer listening to a free, ad-supported version.

But if you prefer something without ads, you could get that at Sleep With Me+, and then there…after that is our intro, which is separate from the support, and it’s about fifteen to twenty minutes long where I unsuccessfully…or I inefficiently explain what the podcast is in a familiar structure every time, but it’s different every time. That way it feels reassuring. You say, okay, there goes Scoots trying to explain what the podcast is, and…but it’s different every time so whatever part of you keeps you awake…I’m keeping them barely entertained or bare…they don’t know what’s coming, and I just think that’s one of the things about the show that works for the people it works for. But the intro also serves to ease you into bedtime. Most people don’t fall asleep during the intro.

I mean, there’s a percentage of people that are asleep, and there’s all those partners and pets that we're so happy for that are in our area sleeping soundly. But for most listeners, the intro is a wind down, right? You get ready for bed and you listen to the intro or you're in bed getting comfortable listening to the intro or you're doing some chill, wind-down activity listening to the intro, 'cause that’s what’s just been shown to work, is to ease into bedtime, to have a routine and a wind down. So, the intro serves as a part of that for most people because that’s what works for me personally. I’ve read and learned a lot about sleep over the past eleven years, and it does…it is one of those recommended things that I’ve personally experienced working for me most of the time, though not last night.

But…and so, then there’s support after the intro, and then there will be our bedtime story. I’ll be working on some…I’ll be reading through block assembly instructions and trying to imagine…I mean, I know what we’re be building…I know what we will be building. Yeah, that’s the structure of the show and why I make the show, and I really hope it can help you out. I’m really glad you came by if you're new. Regular listeners, I hope you're doing well. I work really hard on the show. So do a team of people. Believe it or not, it takes a team of people to make this. It’s surprising, but…and…because we all really yearn and strive to help you fall asleep. So, thank you again for coming by, and here’s a couple ways we're able to do this for you regularly twice a week. Thanks.

Alright everybody, Scoots here. This is a brick builder episode. We did one of these about two months ago, or at least I recorded one about two months ago, and this is where I build Lego kits. I narrate myself reading Lego instructions. Now, these Lego instructions are very specific, and if you really like these episodes, donate to the Trevor Project. The original way I found this person on Etsy that sells these Lego kits is because we both took part in the Orlando ParkStop Fundraiser for the Trevor Project. So, if you're looking to get these kits, there will be a link in there, but it will be also cool that we could support the Trevor Project all year long instead of just…but we will still do the Orlando ParkStop Fundraiser. So, basically, I’m gonna read through this kit.

Now, this…first I’m gonna go through some vocabulary because I didn’t have any Lego vocabulary last time. So, I looked up…well, I tried…it wasn’t as easy as I thought to find stuff. I mean, there was a lot of in-depth fan sites, but I did find this PDF brick list for Lego…the people that are really good at Legos, and this is just for water-based kits, but I figure it’ll give me some information here. I guess it’s for stand-up paddleboarding, 'cause it says ‘supping’. Okay, so, I guess…in the other research I did, apparently the standard brick…I was a bit confused about the thickness of bricks and which one…you know what I mean? Or, I’m always confused about that. But so, there’s a standard brick, right? Then they break it down by its…I forgot what they're called. I call them pips, but they're not pips.

There was a acronym on a fan site, S-N-O-T…not on top…studs. They call them studs. Oh boy, do they. Yeah, they do. Lego studs, man. I seriously have…I have a friend that is big into Legos, and I’d say, man, you're…in my world, you're a Lego stud. He’d say, well…I’d say you're part of the whole. It wouldn't be possible making the whole without you, man. But I’ll probably still call them pips 'cause I have great expectations about this episode. Hardy-har-har. So, basically, your basic bricks are brick, and then they say 1 x 3 — this is what I’m looking for — 1 x 4…hm, 1 x 8…okay, then this is a brick modified…1 x 2 with studs on side. I would say two studs on the side. Then the thinner ones are called plates, P-L-A-T-E-S. No, P-L-A-T-E.

So, in this kit, they got a 1 x 2 plate, a 1 x 4 plate, a 1 x 6 plate, then they have some different…other lighter-color ones. Just looking for anything…oh, tiles. So, the other ones…I may have called those tiles. The flat ones that are like a plate but don’t have studs on top, those are tiles, but they're also referred to by their…I don't know, what’s their undercarriage called? Their Lego bottom. So, these tiles are 1 x 8, then we have some modified bricks. The other website was calling them S-N-O-T-S; studs not on top, though these ones do have studs on top. But that was a good acronym 'cause I remembered it. So, this one is a brick, modified 1 x 2 with studs on side. Then this one is complicated, so get ready. This is a brick modified 1 x 2 x 1 x 2/3 with studs on side.

    I don't know what the 2/3 part is, but it’s…'cause it has four studs on the side. Then there’s a brick modified 1 x 4 with studs on side. Okay, 1 x 2 refers to the top of it. One, two, three studs on side…that doesn't make sense to me, 'cause it’s a 2 x 2. But Lego knows more than me. Plate 1 x 1…what else do we got here? Plate 1 x 2, plate 1 x 6, 2 x 6 plate, 2 x 8 plate…we’ll see how much I remember this when we get into it. Plate…a 16 x 16 plate; that’s a base plate, you know. I mean, I think. Plates…these are all plates. Brick…here’s your…here’s the most popular brick, in my opinion, the 2 x 4 brick. Then there’s a 1 x 1 plate. That’s not a 1 x 1 plate. That’s like a 2 x…this one’s got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight…that’s a 2 x 8 plate, mislabeled. Oh no…yeah.

    1 x 10, 1 x 2, 1 x 3…okay, 1 x…what do they call a plate with just one on top? I think we got that earlier, right? A one? Just a plate…1 x 1? Yeah, I guess so. But…yeah, 1 x 2 or 1 x 1. It’s not technically a 1 x 1, though, you know? This says 4 x 4. Oh, that is a 4 x 4. It’s a square. 4 x 8, 6 x 8…okay, plate round, 1 x 1. So, the circle ones with the stud on top are plate rounds. There’s a clear brick 1 x 2, clear light-blue brick or a transparent light brick 1 x 1. Oh, here’s a window one. It’s called a panel 1 x 2 x 2 with side supports and hollow studs. Plate round 1 x 1, tile 1 x 1 with groove. Oh boy, does it, man. I don't know what the…is the groove in the top? Oh, I can't see it 'cause it’s a picture, but…tile 1 x 4, tile 1 x 2 with groove, 1 x 1 with groove…oh, maybe we see it…oh, so, those are kinda the ones maybe you use as a bowl or whatever.

Like a bowl full of jelly. Not all known. These are all plates. So, we learned…I mean, we learned a lot already that I didn’t know last time. Plate 1 x 1…30…1 x 1 2/3. This is a incline. Tile with groove…okay, so, that’s everything that I learned thus far. I did ask the artificial intelligence also to help me, so I could always go to that later, but I don't know if that was right or not, you know? Okay, so, today to start out, we're gonna be building Stadler and Waldorf’s balcony, and the reason we're gonna be building it is that this is part of Muppet Vision 3D. On the last episode we did Pizzerizzo, which we don’t have a confirmation that is closing, but it probably will be closed or re-themed.

But Stadler and Waldorf’s balcony is definitely going away 'cause Disney announced…even though the last episode we put out was before the announcement; this one’s after it…they announced they're closing the Muppet Courtyard and Muppet Vision 3D. Now, the Muppets aren't gonna be gone forever. They're moving over. They're moving right along, as the Muppets would say, to…Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster with the Muppets or something like that, it’s gonna say. Hopefully they’ll…I don't know. Maybe they’ll do more, and hopefully we’ll find out more. I do have…this is one of those…Muppet Vision 3D…no, I realize it’s been around for twenty or thirty…probably…no, thirty plus years.

So, I just…I don't want to go into it too much about it, but it did have so many good reveals, and the surprises for me are really what make…and for a while I swore this ride off because there was just…I’m not a big 3D…I don't know. I don't know, for a while…probably like ten years, I was like, I’m not going…I liked the Muppets part, but the computer-animated part, I had a resentment towards it, I guess. But I got over it eventually. I did for the past…since my…not since my daughter was born, but maybe since she got old enough to…I don't know, at least the past five or six years I’ve gone regularly when I’ve gone on trips there. But I just want to talk about the reveals, which is Stadler and Waldorf are really there. They're not a movie.

So, again, it’d be cool if they had a way to take that out of the theatre and put it somewhere else like in a restaurant, and they were there the whole time in their balcony. Then there’s the bunny who appears in the other balcony as a part of a surprise. The penguins who appear in the front of the theatre, those are all animatronics, and the Swedish Chef who appears in the back of the theatre…there’s also effects that happen in the theatre that are practical effects in addition to the 3D movie, and then the 3D-movie practical effects that happen while you're in your seat. But for me, the best reveal was a character that comes in the theatre briefly, and I guess it’s probably just somebody that works on the ride and they have to put…you know. It’s not really…whatever.

But that is…for me was the thing that made it when I first saw it. I didn’t get to go to Disney when I was a little kid, but even when I was…whatever, I was in high school, I said, holy cow, this reveal…there was just so many unexpected, nice surprises. The fact that a character comes out during a 3D movie…it’s just very playful and a cool surprise. Alright, so, let’s build Stadler and…Statler; not Stadler, Scoots. Oh boy, my whole life has been…Statler. Stadler. Statler. Statler and Waldorf’s balcony. Alright, we're gonna start off with two…one, two, three, four…one, two, three, four, five, six…I don't know which number goes first, but two 4 x 6 plates, maroon, very maroon. Okay, I don't have the word for these ones. These are plates, curved plates with notches. Half…quarter-circle plates?

It may make a circle; may not make a circle. Actually, I have no idea. Curved, rounded plates? 4 x 3 x 3 x 1 or a 4 x 4 x 2 x 2? I don't know. We're gonna need two of those, and we're assembling a base, a base…oh, those are gonna go on top. So, first we're gonna take the 4 x whatever, 6s…we're gonna make a big rectangle. Then we're gonna put these ones on top with another 4 x 8 in the middle, or whatever…no, that’s a 4 x 6 plate. So, we're forming some sort of superstructure that may or may not be the base. Oh boy, yeah, now we're taking…now we're gonna need more plates. 2 x 6; that’s your most popular plate, or a 6 x 2. No, that’s a 4 x 2. Whoops. I don't know my plate…I don't know my plate from my plates, you know? 2 x 4…oh yeah, that’s the most popular one, but this is a plate, not a brick.

We're gonna need one 2 x 4 and then two more plates that are 4 x 6s. We're gonna put those behind the ones we just placed on top of our base layer. So, this is our second base layer. Oh boy, now we're gonna build the back of the balcony. We're gonna need four 1 x 4s. So, four bricks, red bricks, cherry-red bricks, balcony-red bricks. We're gonna need four of those. Oh no, six. Sorry. Step 4; six bricks, six 1 x 4s. We're gonna line the back of the balcony…the back of our base with that. We're gonna leave one pip or stud on each side, but we're gonna…it’s gonna be the back wall. So, the curve…the curving part will be the front. Okay, now it’s tile time. I’ve heard of…we're gonna need twelve 2 x 2 tiles, I guess, square tiles.

I’m guessing they're 2 x 2 tiles, and what we're gonna do is…the first set of three, we're gonna leave that…we're gonna line them up with the left edge of the back wall heading forward. So, there will be one set of studs open still. We're gonna put three in front of each other headed towards the front of the thing we're building. Then we're gonna do the exact same thing on the other side, right? All the way on the right side. If this thing flips over, though, it’s gonna be confusing for me to explain anything, but that’s fine. But we're gonna build three more coming out on the right side. Is that flush with the back wall…so, there’s one row of studs, and that’ll be five studs total.

Then what we're gonna do is we're gonna take the next six tiles and kinda build a floor in front of the center going out from the center wall, the center of the back wall of those 1 x 4s heading out. So, then on the left and the right of that, it’ll be two tile…two sets of tiles wide, three sets of tiles long, and then the left side and the right side will be a two-stud spacing. The old two-stud spacing, man. Or in my world, two-pip stacing…two-pip stace…two-pip spacing. Okay, next up we're gonna need four tiles that are 1 x 2s. So, those are like little…kinda like very small doormats. Oh, I forgot to tell you the colors. Oh, boy. So, those tiles earlier were maroon, kinda matching what we already did. These tiles will also be maroon, four 1 x 2 maroon tiles. Then we're gonna do plates, and we're gonna do two cherry-red 2 x 4 plates.

So, if you're looking at what we had built, we had those two rows of open two studs in-between the tiles, right, on the left and the right side. So, what we're gonna do first is on the left and the right side of the center tiles, we're gonna place…what is that? A 2 x 1 tile up against the back wall, then we’ll place the 2 x 6 or the 2 x 4 tile coming out, and then another 2 x 1 in front of it. So, basically, coming out from the back wall will be a 1 x 2 tile, then a 2 x 6…2 x 4 plate that’s cherry red or whatever, your favorite red insert there, and then another 1 x 2. Okay, then we're into areas that are beyond my vocabulary. So, something like a plate with two notches and it has angle…and it has inclines. That’s a plate that’s a 1 x 2. Then another plate with a 1 x 2 with a single stud on top, then another plate that’s a 2 x 2.

It’s a tile on one side and then two studs on the other side, which is…I mean, yeah, this is a great…this is a podcast to put you to sleep, but…those are all gonna be cherry red, and we're gonna need two of each of those. I don't know if I said that. You're gonna see there’s only one place to build those on top of those cherry-red 2 x 4s…2 x 4s. So, in the back…on the back row, almost against the wall but not quite, we're gonna put the 2 x…the plate with the stud on top, a plate with a single stud on top, the 2 x 1. Then we're gonna place the tile that I have no…the tile I have no idea how to refer to it, but it’s a 2 x 1. It has some notches and some inclines. Then we're gonna place the tile with two studs on top that’s a 2 x 2 with the studs facing the front of the…with the studs away from the back wall.

So, whatever you're doing at home, you're doing great. It’s…oh boy, is this gonna be good. Okay, the next thing we're gonna do is keep working on our back wall. So, we're gonna need more cherry-red pieces. We're gonna need two 2 x 1s, three 4 x 1s…these are bricks, yes. Thanks for asking. Then we're gonna need four bricks, 2 x 1, with studs on the…two studs on the front. I guess those are modified bricks? I can't remember. Okay, so, what we're gonna start with is…we're gonna build up our wall by…on the left and right sides of the wall, we're gonna add…we're gonna build it up, one on the left and the right only, though, by…with those 4 x 1s. So, we're gonna use two of the 4 x 1s to build up our wall on the left and the right.

Now, in-between those two, we're gonna put two of the four…2 x 1s with the studs in front so the studs are facing towards us, towards the front of this structure we're building. So, you want the studs not facing backwards. You want them facing frontwards. Okay? I don't know if that makes any sense, but it kinda will. So, then you'd have four studs in a row, and then on the left and the right of the studs, you'd have flat bricks. On top of those 2 x 1s with the studs on front, we're gonna put the last 1 x 4, and we're gonna cap that off. Now, to the left and the right of that 1 x 4 we just placed, we're gonna place the flat…the regular 2 x 1 bricks. So, on the left and the right side of that…so, alls we should have left on the left and…the far left and the far right of this top-back wall is two open pips on each side.

For that, we're gonna place our last 2 x 1 modified brick with two studs on the front. Again, those studs are gonna be facing towards us and towards the inside of this box we're building. Oh wow, we're going even higher. I would have never thought it. We need six more bricks. We're gonna take six more cherry-red bricks, and they're all gonna be 2 x 1 bricks. We're just gonna continue our wall upwards. This is the simplest one we’ve had so far. So, each…our wall is gonna go up by two more bricks, each of the three sections of our wall. I guess I’d say be careful placing these, 'cause this wall is gonna be…I mean, these walls are gonna be pretty…we haven't done any interlocking or interlocking. So, yeah, just be careful on placement. But yeah, so, then our whole back wall will be up by two more bricks.

Great work. Great work, everybody. Alright, we're on Step 10 and we're gonna finish off…we're gonna do a little fancification here of the top of our back wall, or what I’m assuming is our back wall. So, once again, making a leg out of O and you and me. Okay, so, for this one, we're gonna go back to tiles, regular tiles, cherry-red tiles. We're gonna take…we're gonna need two 2 x 1 tiles, cherry red. So, those will be nice, little rectangles. Those are the doormat-style ones, and then we're gonna get two more 2 x 4s. No, no, no, definitely not; a 1 x 4. Then we're gonna top off our back wall, the top of it, the studs on top or the pips on top, starting on the left side with a 2 x 1, then a 4 x 1, then a 4 x 1, then a 2 x 1. Therefore, getting some interlocking.

So, Scoot…you're saying, Scoots, this is still…there’s nothing holding this wall up, but at least now it’s interlocking. I say, yeah, thank goodness, right? Okay, don't worry, because we're gonna work on some more superstructure right now. If you were breathless, don't worry, because we got superstructure coming. So, now we're gonna go to some maroon pieces. This is Step 11, by the way, and our first maroon piece…we're gonna take four bricks that are 1 x 4s. I guess it could be a 4 x 1, couldn't it? Or would that look like something else? I don't know. But a 4…1 x 4 brick, and then we're going into the modified brick category again. This is a taller brick, so I don't know what to call this. I don't know if this is a 2/3 or whatever, because…no, it would be more…it’s taller than a regular brick.

But it is…I guess it’s 2/3 of…I don't know. It’s a taller brick. It’s a two-pip-high brick. So, it’s two pips high. It’s a 1 x 1 brick that has two studs on the front that are vertical, vertical studs, not horizontal studs on the front, which could be confusing. Kinda looks like a lantern. I mean, it doesn't look like a lantern at all, but I don't know how else to describe it. So, what we're gonna do is we're gonna build our left and our right wall. We're gonna start with our 4…1 x 4s, and on the…to the left and the right of our back wall, we're gonna put…we're gonna build a wall that’s coming forward from that that’s two 4 x…1 x 4 tall on each side. Then in front of that we're gonna place our 1 x 1, two stud…vertical studs in the front in front of our wall. We should have one open pip or one open stud on each side on the left and the right.

We're gonna have those studs facing forward as well, so they're facing out. Obviously we're gonna probably do some attaching. Oh, and no sooner did I say that than we do. Oh boy, this is some advanced brick building, because I don't even know what we're doing. Huh. How in the…? Hm. Okay, so, this one took all the processing power I had. Okay, so, now this is Step 12. We're gonna need two bricks that are 1 x 2, maroon. Oh, maroon…I may have forgotten the colors for a while, but that happens to the best of us. So, we're gonna need two maroon 1 x 2s. That’s a normal…I mean, that’s a pretty standard brick. We’ve seen it before. Now, this is some creative building, because I don't even…I definitely don’t have the vocabulary for this stage. We need four…luckily, if you bought this in a kit, it’s there.

I mean, it’s visual, man. That’s what makes good sleep podcast material. Okay, so, it’s maroon. It’s a brick, but it doesn't look like a brick. I would say this is a partial archway. We're gonna need four of these, but we're gonna…so, if you looked at it, you'd say, I’m making some sort of archway. But, no; we're gonna put these…how do I even describe this? Okay, so, we're gonna make a archway and then we're gonna rotate it. So, we're gonna take…so, basically we have our 1 x 2, right? Then we're gonna take these archway ones with the pip on top, with a notch, and we're gonna put those on the top two studs, side by side. If you were looking at it, you'd look…you'd say, oh, I have a left and a right side of a arch. But no, no, no.

What we're gonna do is lower them and then put them on the front-facing studs, because we're making a balcony, man. So, it’ll make the front curve of the balcony, and there will be two more studs facing out for the rest of the front of the balcony. I mean, I didn’t even know this kind of thing was possible. This is like…it really is blowing my mind. I mean, I have good spatial awareness when I can see stuff visually, but I don't think I could ever imagine this stuff. Okay, now…wow, these are…this is advanced-level bricks…brick naming. Okay, we're gonna need…this is Step 13. We're gonna need maroon bricks, and the base of this first one — we're gonna need two of these — is a 1 x 1 plate, but then rising up at a angle from the plate is a 1 x 2 vertical…a plate with vertical studs on it.

It kinda makes sense in the context that we're building the front…bottom of the balcony. Then we're gonna need three ones that are the same as that, but they're 2 x 2. So, we’ll have four studs on the front and two, whatever, Lego bottoms. So, basically, if…yeah. But it’s gonna form the front of the…front of…lower-front of the balcony. So, what we're gonna do is first we're gonna place one of the…two vertical-stud one, then a four vertical stud…or then a 2 x 4…2 x 2 vertical-stud one, or pips; 2 x 2…another 2 x 2 pip, another 2 x 2 pip, and then another 1 x 2 pip. So, now what we’ll have is…and these are hollow studs. I don't know if that makes a difference. Maybe just in the creation.

But if you're looking at the front of our balcony, you'll have a solid stud, two on top of each other, then one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight hollow…set of two hollow studs, and then another set of two solid ones. Okay, now we're gonna do a little more decorating. So, we're gonna do…on the inside floor of our balcony, on the front-inside floor, we still have some open studs. So, we want to make that smooth. So, we're gonna need four maroon 1 x 2 tiles, and we're gonna use those to line the front-inside of our balcony. It kinda comes up a little bit, like a little foot rest, almost. ‘Cause you know that Stadler and Waldorf are picky, right? Okay, then we're gonna continue to work on the front-facing side of our…the front of our balcony, and we're gonna need some maroon pieces.

We're gonna need one 1 x 2 tile, one 1 x 2 tile with a single stud on top, and then two 2 x 2 tiles with a single stud on top in the middle, a center stud or a center pip. Then we're gonna need two 1 x 1 tiles with a clip-on clip, all maroon. So, yeah, that’s…but we're basically working on the front section of our balcony. What we're gonna do is we're gonna leave…if we're facing our balcony, the front section of it, the solid studs…we're not gonna use those. We're only gonna use the hollowed-out studs. What we're gonna do is on the furthest left and right side, on the top stud, we're gonna put the clip one on each side as if…so that if you were putting something in the…so the clip…you could put something vertically in the clip, not horizontally.

Then to the left of each clip or left of the clip and the right of the clip, we're gonna put the 2 x 2 with the single stud in the center, and that should just leave us with a open square. On the bottom of the open square, on the bottom two pips, we're gonna put the 1 x 2 tile, and on the top two pips going horizontally that…we're gonna put the 1 x 2 with the stud in the center. Maybe I’ll call the solid ones pips and the hollow ones studs. I don't know. Maybe I won't, though. Maybe I’ll forget. I think I said all those are maroon. Now we're gonna also…we're moving onto Step 16. We're gonna keep working on the front of our balcony here. We're gonna need more maroon pieces. We're gonna need two 1 x 1 tiles. So, a little square tile. We're gonna need two doormat tiles.

So, it’s that 1 x 2 tile, all maroon, and then we're gonna need two of the same one, the 1 x 1 tile with a clip. But this time…okay, let’s see if I can explain it this time. So, this time we're covering the pips and not studs first. So, let’s start with the pips. Those are the solid circles. We're gonna cover those pips with our 2 x 1 tile vertically. So, we're gonna cover those two vertical pips? Yeah, I guess…with a nice tile and give it a nice, smooth front. Then on the…there will be a bottom-left stud, which is a hollow pip, underneath our clip one. We're gonna put the 1 x 1 tile underneath that to smooth that out, right? Okay, then we're gonna move to the right to the 2 x 2 plate with a single stud in the center, and we're gonna put our clips on there, but these clips are gonna be to hold something horizontally instead of vertically.

So, they’ll be going at almost a right angle to our vertical-clip pieces. So, yeah. Okay…oh boy, now we're getting fancy. Holy cow. Talk about creative. Wow. Okay, so, these next pieces are gold or bronze-colored pieces. These are gonna be accoutrements. I don't know what the official term is. The two…first two pieces that are gold are…look like scissors, but if you turn them and put them on the front, they're gonna look like…kinda like ribbons. We're gonna clip those two with the center of the scissor handle into the clip on the left and the right, the vertical clips. So, it’ll kinda look like the scissors are being held at a tool shop. But then we're gonna reimagine and say, oh no, those aren't scissors. Those are ribbons, fancifying this thing.

Then we're gonna get a circular piece that kinda looks like it could be…it doesn't look like a toilet seat 'cause, one, it’s gold, but also it’s like too perfectly circle, but it could also be considered a wreath if wreaths were smooth. We're gonna take that one and we're gonna put that on the center…right in the center of the front of our balcony on that one lone center stud. Now the front of our balcony is getting fancy. Oh boy, and then…wow, this is really creative. Okay, so, next up is a…oh, a circle 1 x 1. I don't know if it’s called a plate, but it’s just a one-stud circle. Then two pieces that look like golden hot dogs or pieces…I guess pieces of macaroni. The Golden Hot Dog Award goes to a piece of macaroni. You'll know these pieces 'cause they're gonna match the rest of the front of the thing. So, two macaronis, except they're not hollow.

So, they are more like a hot dog. What we're gonna do is we're gonna take that circular 1 x 1 and we're gonna put that at the center of our wreath to kinda plus it, and then we're gonna put the two hog dog pieces on our two horizontal clips, right in the middle of those. So, it kinda…if you're looking at it like a distance now, it really looks fancy. Like, oh boy, there’s ribbons, and this is what the balcony actually looks like at Muppet Vision. So, yeah. Okay, so, next up, I think we're work…I don't know what we're working on next. Maybe the seats? We're on Step 19, and we're gonna need two brick-thickness, cherry-red 1 x 1s. So, a bit of a cylinder.

Then we're gonna need a half-circle plate, a 1 x 1 plate that’s like a half oval or looks like half…yeah, I guess that, and then…so, we're gonna need two of each of those, and then we're gonna need…those are…those half circles are yellow or golden. Then two right-angle plates with a pip on the top and a stud on the front; that’s 1 x 1, and we're gonna build those in the back…up against the back wall of our theatre, we got that one stud, one lone stud, one lone stud waiting…so, we're gonna put the cylinder on the stud, then on top of the cylinder we're gonna put that right-angle thing with the pip facing to the front, and then we're gonna top it off with that half circle so that the flat part of the circle, half circle, is facing…is flush with the stud side.

Then we're gonna do…it looks like…yeah, we're…these are the backs of the seat, I guess. So, this is Step 20. So, for Step 20, we're gonna need eight cherry-red, quarter-circle tiles. So, four of those would make a circle, and those are tiles. No, no, no, plates. Sorry. So, four…eight cherry-red, quarter-circle 1 x 1 plates. Then we're gonna…no, no; tiles. Luckily this isn't a official…this isn't a competition, right? Then we're gonna need two 2 x 2 plates, yeah, that are circles. A 2 x 2 circle plate. That one’s a circle. It’s got four…it’s a 2 x 2 on top, so it has four pips on top. Then we're gonna put the plates on the face of that circle so that the circle will go from…it’ll be like a two-layer thing. It’ll have a flat plate on top of red, and then it’ll have a base layer of gold or yellow.

Then we're gonna attach those to the right-angle pieces that we just designed so that there will be a nice circle, which will look like the backs of chairs looking out from our balcony. Okay, now, Step 21, we're gonna work on our left…finishing up our left and our right walls. So, to do that, we're gonna need two maroon bricks, 1 x 1. Then we're gonna need two maroon bricks that are 1 x 4, and then we're gonna need two red…what are these called? Plates? A plate with…a right-angle plate that’s two…that has two vertical studs and a pip on top. So, a two-right-angle plate with a pip on top. What we're gonna do is…hm. Okay, so, this is cool.

Okay, so, if you look at the left and right side of our balcony, you see we got a little space on the front left and right side where we could fit these…the cherry-red 1 x1 with two-stud-on-top plates so the studs are facing to the interior of our balcony. Then on top of that…now we should be able to put flush the 1 x 4, and then behind the 1 x 4 we’ll put the 1 x 1, building up our left and our right walls. Okay, and then we're gonna get some interlocking on on our left and right walls. Holy superstructure. So, we're gonna need six maroon 1 x 1 bricks and six maroon 1 x 4 bricks, and we're gonna build up our left and our right walls, kind of switching on and off, right? So, the one we just did went four…and then a one in the back.

Now I’ll do a four in the back and the one in the front, and then we’ll do the same thing; a four in the front and a one in the back to top…to get to the top of our walls, left and right walls, all maroon. Then we're gonna get some decoration on the top of our walls and some still work. So, we're gonna need some maroon plates, two 1 x 1 maroon plates, and then we're gonna need four 1 x 2 maroon plates with a center stud on top. What we're gonna do there is on the top-left and right of our walls, on the front two pips we're gonna put a 2 x 1 plate with a stud on top, then a 1 x 1 plate, and then another 2 x 1 with a stud on top. So, there will be two studs on top of the left and right walls. Okay, now this one is some sort of fancy design thing. So, now we're gonna do some fancy design. I don't know what we're designing.

So, to start with 24, we're gonna go cherry red…we're gonna do a 1 x 1…a 1 x 4 plate. We're gonna need one of those, but we're gonna do this whole process four times, I believe. But so, a 4 x…a 1 x 4 plate, and then we're gonna need a modified one that’s kinda like…we're gonna need one of those. That’s…huh. I don't know. It’s a drop-down angle…smooth-angle tile…smooth on the top. It has two pips on the bottom, but they're at different layers, so you could kinda make a ceiling piece, 1 x 2. We're gonna attach…so that it can go flush with our plate so it almost makes a nice curve. Then we're gonna get a 1 x 1 plate, cherry red, and then a 1 x 2 plate that’s maroon, and we're gonna put them behind…first we're gonna put the 2 x 1 behind the smooth piece and then the 1 x 1 behind the maroon piece.

So, we got a piece that kinda looks like…I don't know, almost like the start of a hood of a car or something. Then we're gonna keep building up on that. So, on top of the…right now we have three open pips on top, and on top of that pip we're gonna get a 1 x 2 maroon plate, and we're gonna put that over the back two pips. Then on the front, we're gonna put another smaller version of what we just did with that bigger thing; cherry-red 1 x 2…oh no, this…is that the same piece we just used? Yeah. I don't know. Let me go back here. Oh, wow, yeah. So, it’s another one of those curvy pieces. Then we're gonna keep building. So, next up we're gonna need a plate…a 1 x 1 cherry-red plate, then a 1 x 1 maroon block, and then another one of these smooth pieces. Then what we’ll do is we’ll place…I don't know what we do.

Oh, I see. So, then we build up another layer, another curve layer. So, we’ll go…the 1 x 1 cherry-red plate will be on the bottom, then on top of that will be the 1 x 1 maroon brick, and then on top of that will be the curvy piece, but it’ll be connected to the thing we just made. So, that’ll look like a three-layer fancy back of a…what do you call the thing? A balcony, right? So, we’ll have four of those when we're finished. Then what we're gonna do is we're gonna place those on the back of our…the back wall of our…the left and right side of our balcony, 'cause we have two exposed studs, right? So, on the…but we're gonna put them off-center. So, the one on the left…the furthest left side and the furthest right side we’ll put with…flush with the roof, and then below that we’ll put the other one.

So, it’s a very complicated thing, especially this late in the podcast. You may be snoozing. That’s great. But if you're not, we're here building together. So, basically, by the time we're done…okay, and then the one…and to the side of it we’ll put one that’s one pip lower. Then I think we're gonna do the exact same thing, yeah, four more times. Okay, so, that’s easy. So then we're gonna do the same thing four more times, maybe? I guess so. Is that the exact same? Yeah, three of those. So, we're gonna do four more of those, and we're gonna put those in the center of the back of the balcony, kinda like soundproofing or something. Just remember to put those at different heights so it looks good. Okay…wait, we're gonna do it again? Oh, boy.

Is that the exact same? Okay, we're gonna do another similar structure, but it’s gonna be a little bit different. So, stay tuned. The first thing we're gonna do is get cherry red…the same kinda piece…that angle piece that we’ve been using for the wavy parts, and then a 4 x 1 plate, both cherry red. We're gonna put the angle plate on the first piece of the 4 x 1. Then we're gonna get a 1 x 1 cherry-red plate and a 2 x 1 maroon plate, kinda similar to what we did last time. The cherry-red 1 x 1 will go in the back, and then the 1 x 2 maroon piece will go in front. Then we're gonna put another…we're gonna get another maroon 2 x 1 and put it on there, and then another angle piece and put it on there. So, we get the double wave. But then we're gonna build the triple wave.

But instead of the triple wave we’ve been building, we're gonna do it a little different. So, we're gonna get a 1 x 1 plate, cherry red, then a 1 x 1 brick, but with a stud on the front, and then another curvy piece. So, what’s gonna happen is that curvy piece…what we're gonna end up having to do is the stud’s gonna be poking out of the back of the…the stud’s gonna be poking out of the back of the top of our three-way layer curve, and then what we're gonna do is we're gonna go all the way back to a piece we used early in the game, which was a plate that has angles and two notches in it. Then we're gonna put those on the left and right side of the balcony where the most…the narrowest part is going down and the widest part’s on the top.

So, similar to the other piece we have in there, and we’ll use…for those application…you'll see on the bottom…towards the bottom-left front, we’ll have two vertical studs that we can attach those to. Then we gotta get the roof done, which…the roof is plates, yellow plates. So, we need a 2 x 4 plate and then a 4 x 4 plate, all yellow, three 4 x 4s and one 2 x 2. We're gonna go…we're gonna lay those out on our ground floor here, but we're not gonna put them on anything yet. So, we're gonna go 4 x 4, 2 x 4, 4 x 4, 4 x 4. Then on top of that to start to secure stuff, we’re gonna take two maroon 4 x 4 plates and we're gonna put those just three pips in on each side. So, they’ll be in the…they’ll meet in the center, and then on the left and right will be 3 x…a 4 x 3 or a 3 x 4 space of pips.

Okay, then we're gonna add some footers, which are 2 x 2 cherry-red plates, and we're gonna put those underneath the yellow things so their pips are placing up, like footers. So, there will be two exposed pips at the front. Okay? Then we're gonna use those to add some more…another base layer, which is gonna be made up of yellow pieces, plates, 2 x…one 2 x 4, one 4 x 4, and then two curved 4 x 4 x 3…whatever, the same kind of curvy, rounded plates we used last time. We're kinda doing something similar. So, now we’ll have a base layer with yellow and then the maroon layer on top. Then we're gonna add some finishing to the front of that, and the finishing is gonna be plate…or, no, tiles. So, we're gonna have one 1 x 4, two 1 x 1 plates…so, those are small squares, and then two 1 x 1 quarter-circle plates.

We're gonna use that to line the very front of…it’ll also do…it won't do any interlocking, but we're gonna place the two half circles with the rounded parts going round towards the front on the left and right side of the front of our rounded areas, then the two 1 x 1s next to that, and then the one 4 x 1 in the middle. So, we’ll have a nice, smooth front. Then we're gonna get some fancy roofing pieces, which are…we're gonna need two cherry-red ones which are quarter spheres, I think. Or, no…one, two eighths of a sphere, and we're gonna put those on the left and right side, cherry-red eighth-of-a-sphere pieces. So, those will be on the left and right sides starting to make up our roof.

Then we're gonna take eight cherry-red pieces that are like sphere slices or…you know, they're roofing…red, big, bulbous roof pieces for a fancy roof of a balcony, and we're gonna line those up behind the tiles to make a nice…we're starting to make a nice roof, almost like an awning it’s gonna look like. Okay, then we're gonna cap that off, the top of our awning…front roof…balcony roof with tiles, and we're gonna do the same kinda style that we did on…in the front of it. So, we’re gonna get two quarter-circle 1 x…quarter-circle tiles and then two 1 x 4 tiles, and we're gonna put the quarter-circle ones on the far left and far right on top of the bulbous eighth-of-a-sphere pieces, and then two 1 x 4s to the left and the right of those.

Then what we're gonna do is turn it around, so we’ll have…it kinda looks like a little play area, almost. We're in the back…we're almost in the back of the roof, right? But we're gonna work on the left and the right side and we're gonna use the same eight cherry-red cake-slice, roof-slice pieces, and we're gonna build those from the front to the back, so it’s almost like…now we’ve got a balcony or a awning with left and right sides. Then we're gonna put a 2 x…a 1 x 4 tile on top of each one of those to kinda finish it off. Then we're gonna use…we're gonna do some filling in. For superstructure purposes, we're gonna put in two…or we're gonna get four cherry-red 2 x 4 bricks, and we're gonna fill in the first layer of that play area. Then we're gonna get four more and we're gonna fill in the next layer of that play area.

Then we're gonna cap that off with eight 1 x 4 tiles. So, now our balcony has a smooth roof. Now we're gonna turn our balcony all the way over, so we're looking at the…our balcony bottom. We're gonna do some superstructuring and some fancifying. So, we're gonna need two…now we're gonna see…there’s gonna be two red squares, right? Those were our…were there earlier that we used to build this thing, and we're gonna use those as a guide. We're gonna need a 1 x 1 plate and then a 1 x 1 plate with a clip in front that’s good for horizontal clipping.

We're gonna put those…if you use the red-and-white squares we have on the bottom, you're gonna put it two pips to the…if you're looking at the back, you're gonna be two pips from the back of the roof with the horizontal clip facing forward, and two pips in-between our two red bottom squares. Then we're gonna put a fancy light in that we're gonna make with a diamond and another green…gold toilet-seat circle. We're gonna put the diamond in the pip and then we're gonna put the circle into the clip so that when we flip it over, it’ll look like a light, like a fancy light. Then we're gonna put the roof on. Alls we gotta do is turn it over and put it on top, and we got our roof. Then we're gonna put together…we're pretty much almost done.

Alls we're gonna do is put together some…we got some clear circle pieces that we're gonna use to hold the 3D glasses, so we're gonna attach these glasses to these clear circle pieces, and then we're gonna take these two pieces that look like pointy gold things, and we're gonna take two round tiles, maroon, round tiles, and then we're gonna make…I don't know, some kind of…I don't know, we're gonna take two sticks, black tube sticks, then two 1 x 1 tile…white tiles, and then two 1 x 1 white plates with a vertical clip, and we're gonna put the white plate on top of the white pip, and then we're gonna put the black tube in the clip like it was meant to hold something. I guess…yeah, some sort of effect that I can't think of right now. Those are…so, those are if you want to play. Also, you'll have your Stadler and Waldorf characters.

So, then you could put them in the booth there and have them play along, and you're good to go. So, we did build that together. Yeah, I think it was pretty successful. It was another episode of a sleep podcast. If you…but if you were…I mean, if you're serious about Legos or whatever, there will be some sort of video version of this out there either on Sleep With Me+ or YouTube or somewhere. So, you will be able to follow along at some point. But thanks, thanks, and goodnight, everybody.

    STORY

    Brick Builder ep

    Donate to the Trevor Project!

I found this designer through the Orlando Park Stop fundraiser

    Learning LEGO Vocabulary

Previously, I was confused about the thickness of brick

    Oh they call pips Studs

Oh boy, these are studs indeed

    Pip vs Stud

    Thinner ones are called Plates

    Bricks vs Plates

Tiles don’t have studs on top

The Undercarriage of the Lego Bottom

    SNOT (Studs Not On Top)

I won’t question these terms, even though I’m still confused

We’ll see how much I remember these

The 2×4 brick must be the most popular, no?

Oh the circle ones are called Plate Rounds

Panel 1×1, side supports with hollow studs

    Boy, this grooves

I did also ask some AI to help me

    Statler and Waldorf’s balcony

This is part of Muppet Vision 3D

PizzeRizzo will probably be closing soon

And this balcony will be closing soon

Muppetvision 3D had so many great surprises and reveals

I’ve since grown to not resent Muppets 3D

I wish they could just relocate this balcony to a restaurant or something

    Listing the reveals

A character even comes out in real lif!

    2 4×6 Plates, very maroon

    Quarter Circle Plates

    Make a big rectangle

    Forming some sort of superstructure

I don’t know my plate from my plates

    Balcony Red Bricks

    Step 4: Six 1x4s

Leave one stud on each side

This will make the back wall

    Now it’s tile time

    12 Square Tiles

Line them on the back wall

I hope this doesn’t flip over or this is gonna get even more confusing

Build a floor out from the center back wall

    The Old Two Stud Spacing

    4 Tiles that are 1x2s

    A lot of maroon

    Insert Your Favorite Red

    Entering the Vocabulary Zone

Inclined plate with notches and studs

A Tile on one side and 2 studs on the other side

    All Cherry Red

On top of the 2×4 Cherries

I really don’t know how to describe this tile

    A tile with 2×2 studs

    Away from the back wall

You’re doing a great job helping me, thank you

Keep working on the back wall

    Bricks, not studs

The studs will face towards us

Four studs in a row, flanked by flat bricks

    The Last 1×4

Oh wow, we’re going even higher, who would’ve thought

This is simple – make the wall taller

There’s not a lot of interlocking yet in this

    Time for Fancification

Making a Leg out of O and U and Me

    Starting to interlock some bricks

    Superstructure is coming

    A Two Pip High Brick

    Vertical Studs, not horizontal Studs

It kind of looks like a lantern, I guess?

    Starting with 1x4s

This is some advanced brick building

This is some creative brick building

Grab your maroon bricks that don’t look like bricks

    Partial Archway

Make an archway and then rotate it

Lower them and put them on the front facing studs

This is starting to make the balcony!

This really is blowing my mind

    Advanced Level Brick Naming

    A 1×2 Vertical Stud Plate

Building the front and bottom of the balcony

A set of 2 hollow studs followed by 2 solid studs

    Time for more decorating

Make the front inside floor smooth

Only use the hollowed out studs

Leaving you with an open square

Okay, solid ones will be pips and hollow ones will be studs. Maybe.

    Back to the balcony

    1×1 tile with a clip

A bottom left stud aka a hollow pip

    Talk about fancy

    Bronze Gold Accoutrements

They look like scissors but also ribbons

    Ribbons fancifying the balcony

A circular piece that is perfectly circle

    Like a smooth wreath

This balcony front is getting fancy

    A one Stud Circle

Two pieces that look like golden hot dogs and macaroni

Plus the wreath with the circular 1×1

It really looks fancy now, wow

    Are the seats now/

    2 cherry red brick 1x1s

    One Lone Stud, waiting

Top it off with a hat circle

Oh okay, these are the backs of the seats

8 Cherry Red Quarter Circle Tiles

Mixing up my tiles and my plates

    2×2 Circle Plates

Put the plates on the face of the circle

    Layers of Gold and Red

It’ll look like a nice chair back

    Two Maroon Bricks

We have a little space on the sides of the balcony

    Put Flush the 1×4

Finishing up our left and right walls

    Maroon bricks of various sizes

Two vertical studs with a pip on top

Studs face into the interior of our balcony

    Building up our walls

    Get some interlocking going

    Holy Superstructure

    Building up the maroon wall

Decorating the top of the wall

Designing something but I don’t know what it is

    A modified 1×4 plate

    Getting some nice curves going

It looks like the hood of a car, tbh

Wait, am I using the same piece twice?

I don’t know what this next step is

    Building up another curved layer

This is a very complicated roof construction

Do the exact same thing 4 more times

I guess this is kind of like sound-proofing in a way

A stud is now poking out of the back

Two vertical studs to attach to

    Let’s make this yellow roof

2 Maroon 4×4 plates, placed 3 pips in to meet in the center

    Adding some cherry red footers

    Adding some tile finishing

    Fancy Roofing Pieces

    Sphere Slices

    Red Bulbous Fancy Roof Pieces

    Almost like an awning

Turning it around like a little play area

Working on the back of the roof

    Filling in for superstructure purposes

Looking at the balcony bottom to fortify and fancify

Put the diamond into the pip to make a fancy light

Flip it over and we’ve got a roof now!

    Basically done

Clear Circle pieces to hold the 3D glasses

    Pointy Gold Things

    Black Tube Sticks

I don’t know what this is trying to make

And you have your Statler and Waldorf characters, too, of course

There will be a video component to this in some way

    Thanks and goodnight!
